Great location and the area was peaceful during evening and night. Beautiful historical buildings and streets. The room was excellent and it was renovated for modern comforts but they kept the traditional vibe. Lots of great tourist spots close by and within walking distance. Breakfast was good. Would totally recommend to anyone who would like to experience a night in an old Japanese house.

Sasa and Annie were great hosts. The BB is on the outskirts of Kanazawa, not much to do in the neighborhood but this BB experience is worth staying at. They bring all guests together in the bar they started In the town and will take you to the restaurant and show you around. Every evening, we met new people and they made sure we were never bored. There are free bikes to use and in the summer you can go fishing with them. Probably the best BB we have stayed at. Also free laundry and breakfast is a plus

Property matches the description. Best value for money. Nice and quiet room, clean bathrooms, good onsen. Thanks to Mr Yamamuro my stay in Kanazawa was great. He speaks nice English, and told me a lot about attractions to check out, and recommended restaurants. Also he helped me a lot with reservations to tours and restaurants via the phone, as a do not speak Japanese.

Rooms have a tatami (woven-straw) floor and low furniture. Some offer beds, while other rooms come with traditional futon bedding. All rooms are fitted with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and a fridge. Yukata robes are provided.

Staying here can’t be considered simply lodging, but an excellent experience of japanese culture itself. The building is impressive, traditional and well equipped, it even has a little stage for noh theater! The rooms are spacious and confortable and the best is the staff. Welcoming, diligent and friendly they will guide you through arrival, dinner and breakfast. The menu isn’t regular japanese dishes you may know, but a carefully curated dinner by the chef of the ryokan, that may not be suitable for more limited palates. The onsen, with three different little pools is a dream.

Very beautiful, typical japanese ryokan, huge room with beautiful tatami and view on internal garden. The landlady is very welcoming, proactive and nice. The room had a WC and basin; the internal onsen (common bath) was very confortable, spacious and clean, with a typical hot tub. The position is very central and quiet. An excellent stay that surpassed our expectations

We had a brilliant stay at Ryokan Yamamuro as a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids), the room was spacious and comfortable with lots of lovely touches like tea pot/cups and yukata for us all. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful with booking restaurants for us and giving tips on where the visit. If we're in Kanazawa again we'd definitely want to stay again!

This small hotel is beautifully presented, outside and in. The manager, Masa, accommodated our request to drop off our bags early and they were waiting with the yukatas we'd selected in our room. The room was beautifully styled, with a comfortable tatami area and very comfortable beds. It was a pleasure spending time there.

The food was most definitely a highlight—both dinner and breakfast were exceptional kaiseki-style meals, using local ingredients from the Kanazawa region. The staff were incredibly kind, patient, and helpful all throughout—even despite my limited Japanese! And the onsen was also a wonderful experience; my mother and I were able to have a private onsen/bath experience, since there were few guests. I loved how immersed in nature the ryokan was as well—it felt otherworldly.

Bungo-san (the host of this property) is very helpful and has good tips for restaurants and sightseeing and isn’t hesitating to tell it in english for visitors. The room was nice, our first ryokan and we loved it. There are Yukatas in the room and always tea on the table, you can pick hot water at the 1F for your private tea time. We had a really good time there. Thanks you!
