It seemed like the longer we stayed, the more we were treated. The private onsen rooms were fabulous, too. We went several times each day!

Located in Kasuga, 26 km from Takamatsu, Asan Kotonami features a terrace and views of the mountain. The ryokan has a hot spring bath and sauna, and guests can enjoy a meal at the restaurant. Our stay at Asan Kotonami was nothing short of extraordinary! Spending one night in this traditional ryokan was an unforgettable experience. Everything about the stay was perfect, from the serene ambiance to the impeccable service. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the food. The traditional 10-course meals provided a cultural experience unlike any other. Each dish was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, making it a feast for both the palate and the eyes. It was a culinary journey that left me wishing I had booked at least two nights so I could indulge in these amazing meals again and again. What impressed me even more was the accommodation's accommodation of our gluten-intolerant guest. Next time I visit, I'll definitely plan for a longer stay at Asan Kotonami. This place is a gem that offers an authentic and immersive experience into Japanese culture and hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone looking to create lasting memories during their stay in Japan.

A 15-minute walk from JR Kotohira Station, Kotohira Kadan offers natural hot spring baths and spacious Japanese-style rooms, some with a private outdoor hot spring bath. If you are looking for a grand experience in a historic property - this is the place. What made this property exceptional is attention to detail such as lighting of the room, freshly made espresso, foot bath overlooking the garden, a massage chair, amongst others. The food was splendid, the service is polite and staff treats you with care. The experience felt elevated as compared to other ryokans I was staying.

A 5-minute walk from JR Kotohira Train Station, Kotosankaku Hiten provides Japanese rooms with traditional futon beds and Konpira Mountain views. We enjoyed our one-night stay a lot! Free parking, very close and walking distance to the Kotohiragu area. The room itself was very spacious for 2 people. The onsen was also very nice, there were multiple hot tubs (including jet/jacuzzi ones) indoors and outdoors, and they switch the onsen between male and female overnight. There's also restaurants within the hotel itself. The deco of the hotel along the main walkway and the reception was quite traditional and was nice to appreciate.

Toramaru Ryokan asub Liminal Air-core Takamatsust ja Sunporti purskkaevust 42 km kaugusel. Kohapeal on kuumaveeallikas ja tasuta eraparkla. The location and the staff are wonderful. It’s a bicycle friendly ryokan: no problem to store our bikes inside by the reception.

Kikuya Ryokan asub Tonoshos, MeiPAMi kunstimuuseumist 1,2 km ja Saiko-ji templist 1,3 km kaugusel. Majutusruumides on istumisnurk. Great value for money, located right by the port, with great access to the rest of the island. The host was friendly, accommodating, and went out of their way to help, despite the langugage barrier (which with a little google translate, really isn't so much a barrier nowadays anyway). Also, I received a free room upgrade! Who can complain!
