Located in the centre of Kurokawa hot-spring area, it offers Japanese accommodations and free WiFi at the lobby. Free shuttle is available to/from Ogunimachi Yu Station and bus stop Kurokawa. We spent 3 nights at the Sotetsu Fresa Inn Nihonbashi Kayabacho hotel after arriving in Japan (There is another Fresa Inn in the area, so make sure this is where you have your reservation). It is a relatively modern, functional hotel sometimes referred to as a business hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very small as is typical in Tokyo but very clean and functional. The hotel is convenient to Tokyo station (20 minutes walking as a reference). After arriving on the Narita Express or by others means to Tokyo station, follow signs to the Tozai line (sky blue) subway. The easiest way to know which direction to go is to look at the numbers representing the stops. The Tokyo station stop at Otemachi is T-9 and you want to go to T-7 Kayabacho. Leave the Kayabacho subway station via Exit 7 and the hotel is just around the corner. From Kayabaco or the nearby Nihonbashi station, you can get all around Tokyo on the highly efficient subway system. Use a Suica, Welcome Suica or Pasmo card to enter and exit subways and avoid the hassle of figuring out which ticket to buy or how much they coat. Just tap and go. Enjoy. Free Wi-Fi is offered in the public area, and parking is available for free. The staff was incredibly welcoming, happy to help us around; both before our stay as well as on site — they even took care of parking our rental car :) Meals (both dinners and breakfasts) were one of the highlights of the stay, with an amazing variety of truly excellent dishes — and different everyday! The onsen was amazing, we truly appreciated having the option to book a private room for ourselves, as this was our honeymoon. To stay in a Ryokan is definitly a thing to do while being in Japan. It was an amazing experience and we would do it again. The Onsen were amazing and there was always a privat Onsen free to use. It is ecpensive but totaly worth it for a night!
What an extraordinary stay! We had one of our best nights in Japan at Okyakuya! From the first minute the service was outstanding, our baggage was transported to our room, car parked. Great room, even tough traditional it was modernized keeping its original charm. Both dinner and breakfast where amongst the best we had in any Ryokan we stayed at. After checking out we where offered additional towels as we wanted to explorer other Onsens in town
Excellent room with private onsen Beautiful outdoor public onsen as well Good location in Kurokawa Onsen close to shops and other ryokan
Multiple public onsen (main, cave, river, indoor), multiple private onsen available, garden around the ryokan
We had an unforgettable family stay at a traditional Ryokan in Japan. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, who made us feel right at home. The serene atmosphere of the Ryokan, with its beautiful tatami rooms , and peaceful environment, provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Our family enjoyed the delicious kaiseki meals served in Ryokan and loved relaxing in the private onsen. We highly recommend this Ryokan to families looking for a unique and authentic Japanese experience.
The cave onsen was a unique experience. They have private indoor n outdoor hot springs for booking. The English speaking female non-japanese staff was very friendly and pleasant. The ryokan also sent us to the bus stop when they learnt we are taking the bus to Hakata. Dinner was served around a fire place, giving a warm, fuzzy feel.
Loved how large and comfortable the rooms are and after days of tatami mats and futons, the Western style rooms here are a good change. The dinner buffet has a good spread and the food was good! Plenty of choice for all. Onsen was nice too.
The overall experience of staying in a ryokan with onsen, dinner and breakfast included and clothed on Japanese yukata give us taste of what it was like in a Japanese home. Upon our arrival, we were welcome with Japanese tea and dessert. It certainly sets the tone of our stay and warms our heart.
Super friendly and comfortable ryokan we stayed! I must say this is the ryokan have to stay in Aso! Although room without bathroom, but room comes with bigger space and basin and toilet! Our baby has so much fun to enjoy in tatami room, and also we enjoyed so many times in private onsen! Breakfast and dinner is delicious! I’d love to come back again!!
