The property is a little older but in a very good way (very nostalgic for me). Such good vibes in the lobby and the room was beautiful with a big window looking out over the water. I had never before had kaizeki in my room in this way, or had public onsen, and this experience was absolutely fantastic. The food was very good both at dinner and for breakfast. The bedding was comfortable. I have no complaints and every compliment!

They are fitted with air conditioning, a TV and a bathroom with a shower, bathtub and toilet. It was really easy to find and conveniently located. The Japanese style room was really comfortable. The owner is so kind and friendly. She kept our bags for us so we could do some more exploring before catching the ferry back and gave us little Christmas gifts when we left which was a lovely gesture. One of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend.

Guests sleep in Japanese futon bedding on the tatami (woven mat) floor. Excellent service - staff came to pick us up from the ferry station, and they were very polite and welcoming. Location was great near the shrine and we were able to see it from our room. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious and they were able to accomodate our group which had multiple dietary restrictions around meat. Reserving the private bath was simple and it was very relaxing.

Some rooms have carpeted floors and Western beds, and some feature tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. Each room has an en suite bathroom. The staff were lovely, welcoming and helpful. They speak English and were always happy to help you. All meals were rich and made with delicious local products. The staff gave thoughtful explanations regarding the culture and traditions surrounding each food we ate, and gave tips on how to best enjoy each dish. The room was comfortable and large, with all equipments perfectly functional. An excellent option to enjoy "traditional" Japanese hotels. I would definitely stay again at this hotel without hesitation.

Absolutely amazing stay, I have travelled extensively throughout Japan (2+ years) and this is one of the most amazing place I have stayed at. Thank you.

All units in the ryokan are equipped with a coffee machine. There is a private bathroom with bidet in some units, along with slippers, a hair dryer and free toiletries. The units will provide guests with air conditioning, a safety deposit box and a flat-screen TV. The traditional Japanese breakfast is a culinary experience but may not be suitable for everyone. It's 3 mins away from the Torii Gate and the Itsukushima Temple, and also from the dock. The rooms are tidy and clean.

This 2-star ryokan offers luggage storage space and a housekeeping service. Momijidani Park is less than 1 km away and Museum of History and Folklore is a 12-minute walk from the ryokan. We loved everything about this stay! The island was magical, the room was so lovely and we enjoyed having traditional breakfast while wearing yukata. The location is excellent as well, both the ferry and tori are so close.
