The hosts make you feel apart of the family and provide delicious Japanese food. They went out of their way to show us around the area and teach us about the history. The rooms are very cosy and the main living area has incredible views across the mountains.

Set 18 km from Former Residence of Mitsukuri Genpo, Kifuno Sato offers 4-star accommodation in Mimasaka and has an open-air bath, free bikes and a garden. The hospitality was fantastic. The overall atmosphere was extremely welcoming.

The Shiroyama Terrace Tsuyama Villa features a sauna and a hot spring bath, as well as air-conditioned accommodation in Tsuyama, 200 metres from Tsuyama Wonder Museum. best breakfast from all hotels ive stayed on this trip. staff was very accommodating. the first room ive had where i found the pillow comfortable.

Located in the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, Ryori Ryokan Tsurugata offers Japanese-style accommodations in a historical building from the Edo period. This was absolutely fabulous! The highlight of our trip and so off the beaten trail. The ryokan is stunning and right in the historic district on the canal. The 11 course dinner served in our room was delicious and such a special experience of Japanese foods. The breakfast was also delicious and traditional and served in a peaceful breakfast room. We loved the experience of the onsen, having dinner, and then taking a stroll by the canal in our yukatans. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Japan.

Kofuji Ryokan is set in the Kojima district of Kurashiki, 13 km from Tanematsuyama Park, 16 km from Shinkeien Garden and 30 km from Rian Bunko Art Museum.

Featuring mountain views, Hakkei features accommodation with an open-air bath, free bikes and a bar, around 31 km from Fukusen-ji Temple. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Staff were very friendly, attentive and proactive towards our needs, especially the lady boss who was very friendly. They have many staff who spoke English. On the day we checked out, they recommended us to visit a small village (出雲街道) next to the Sayo station to see the beautiful cherry blossom. I have to say thank you for their recommendations as we enjoyed it very much.

Featuring 3-star accommodation, Yoshii Ryokan is situated in Kurashiki, 400 metres from Shinkeien Garden and 8.3 km from Tanematsuyama Park. Our room had an adjoining garden, which was peaceful and lovely. The room was comfortable and well-appointed. The meals were traditional and delicious, with polite and kind staff. The bath was very enjoyable too.

Free WiFi is available throughout the entire property.... The room was clean and spacious, the hotel included 2 onsen facilties on the rooftop alongside another on the lower floors, both the dinner and breakfast was served as a buffet with chefs handmaking sushi, steak, and egg orders fresh.
