The staff was very kind, as expected from a family owned ryokan. The bath area is small, but you schedule your personal bath time. Food is incredible, a must try when visiting Zao. Location is near the main attractions, like the cable car is reachable by walking. Lots of nearby onsens.

Boasting natural hot spring baths, Hohoemino Kuyufu Tsuruya is located a 15-minute walk from JR Tendo Station, 50 km from Sendai. Dinner and breakfast exceeded expectations. Everyone was so helpful and polite. The room and private onsen was amazing. It was a great way to relax.

Surrounded by sacred mountains and untouched nature, Tamonkan is housed in a historic Japanese-style building. Complimentary tea and snacks are served to welcome guests. What a great find this place was. A very traditional Japanese guest house with ultra friendly and accommodating hosts. This property has been in their family for generations and they go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The meals were excellent and there was an English explanation for each dish served 😊. A big bonus is the short walk to the stairs to climb Mt Haguro. (Not that that makes the stairs any easier!) We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay here!

Hotel Miyamaso Takamiya se nahaja 10 min hoje od gondole Zao Sky Cable in se ponaša z 9 kadmi z naravno vodo iz vrelca. Lesena zgradba odseva tradicionalni slog japonskih gostišč. Everything is perfect! The amazing experience was starting from the transportation service. Then the check-in and dinner services, everything feels perfect! I can feel the staffs are all proud of this Hotel and its history and spirit. Thanks for Takamiya gave us such warm experience!

This was the most elegant and restful stay of my life. Food is incredible - deserves a bib gourmand! Rooms are large and comfortable with a view. Onsen is lovely. The best is the free alcohol and hot drink service in the evenings around the fireplace. Definitely stay here if you can! It’s once in a lifetime type stuff

Tsukaya Ryokan is a accommodation with a history of over 300 years. All rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) floors. Of all the hotels and ryokans I stayed at during my two weeks traveling Japan, the night at Tsukasaya Ryokan was by far my favorite. Mrs. Shoji personally came out and greeted me at my taxi. From that moment onward, I felt as if I was receiving an experience personalized just for me. After showing me to my room, Mrs. Shoji informed me of several local attractions (parks, shrines, temples, etc.) that were lovely to visit prior to returning for dinner. Every moment of the stay felt thoughtfully crafted and authentic. The food was delicious, containing many dishes that I had never before experienced. The onsen, while small and enclosed, was at just the right temperature and left my skin feeling the best it has in years. The design of the structure was charming and authentic (as best that a foreigner like myself can judge). The staff were friendly and accommodating.

Situated among spiritual mountains with a rich history, Hagurokan offers traditional Japanese-style guest rooms in a historic building. We had a lovely stay at Hagurokan. Excellent Japanese hospitality- we felt very welcomed and cared for. The ryokan itself is beautiful, and the traditional meals were so good. Every dish was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend!

Nastanitev Meigetsuso se nahaja 10 min vožnje od postaje Kaminoyama Onsen, na posestvu, ki meri 10.000 m². Ponuja japonski vrt z najrazličnejšimi rastlinami in brezplačen WiFi v preddverju. Magnificent stay in this charming ryokan. From the irori and lit torches greeting us at the entrance, to the sumptuous kaiseki meal and lovely onsen, everything was perfectly traditional and inspiring.

Nastanitev Kansyokan je v mestu Mogami, 14 km od znamenitosti železniška postaja Shinjo, in nudi sezonski zunanji bazen, brezplačno zasebno parkirišče, vrt ter bar. This place was visited by the Emperors of Japan so definitely worth it to get expensive and get the suite, it was massive and able to fit 7 people. Definitely worth if travelling in groups. Also the hotelier is very very very helpful. He helped us to plan our day itinerary and arrange drivers for us. Very accomodating and staff is very very very helpful. Breakfast is included and the facilities is amazing.
