The location is stunning and the cabins are very comfortable. You're really in the middle of idyllic countryside when you stay at this property. I'll be recommending it to all my friends who are planning to visit Iceland.

Only a couple of hours from Reykjavik but this place feels very much away from it all. The roads in and out aren't the easiest depending on the weather. We visited in early April and got stuck in snow (twice!) on the way in taking the northern road then feared getting stuck due to road closures and difficult driving conditions on the way out but we made it. Because of this we didn't get to see as much as we'd have liked. But we did have excellent takeaway fish and chips from the harbour front at Hafnarvaginn

Small, quiet (at this time of year) but very peaceful and beautiful! We caught our best show of the northern lights here! Also, would highly recommend Narfreyrarstofa for dinner, delicious and great atmosphere!

I loved the small-town vibe and charming Icelandic architecture located on an active harbour. Beautiful ocean views from the harbour-adjacent island walk! Enjoyed soaking at the local pool/hot pots, and happy to have a bakery, grocery store, and restaurants to choose from for meals. I would gladly stay here again, or for more than one night to see some of the local museums which were closed over Easter weekend.

The staff was excellent and very accommodating. They knew the area well and could recommend meals and other services to us. We ate at a very nice fish restaurant where the one waitress ran the entire restaurant efficiently and in a timely fashion.Great food

Great location on north side of peninsula.
Great location on north side of peninsula. Wish we’d had more time to explore. Excellent northern lights viewing near the lighthouse. Go up the stairs toward the lighthouse and turn left to block harbor lights.

It is a nice little town by the sea.
It is a nice little town by the sea. There is a small hill by the harbor you can climb that offers beautiful views. There are also a few restaurants, cafes, shops and museums but it is also nice to just walk around.
the hotel rooms are very small but we did not expect it to be more than that. The place have dining room and kitchen downstairs which we used for family outstanding dinner! there is big supermarket nearby open from 1000-2000 and the kitchen is well equipped. (the only problem was that you need to wait for others to finish cooking or cook together. we used the washing machine as well for our laundry. the showers and toilet are public but quite clean and close to your rooms. in general, it was one of our best evenings in Iceland...!
Staying at Akkeri for a week in early March was wonderful. The accommodations were very comfortable and clean. Our host was very helpful and made sure all the guests were taken care of. I liked that we had refrigerator space and all the utensils and dishes we needed to make our own breakfast and lunch, with tables to eat at. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate were always available. We were also able to have a load of laundry done at a reasonable price. And we loved Stykkisholmur!
This is a lovely boutique hotel in a charming old building on the harbor. The rooms were small, but comfortable and clean, with modern bathrooms, comfy beds, and cute decor. The lobby is a fun place to hang out for a drink and to peruse their diverse book collection on art and nature in Iceland. The breakfast served on site was delicious. Our hosts helped us with dinner reservations both nights at Narfeyrarstofa, which was fabulous!
The whole guesthouse was extremly clean: The room itself, the bath and even the breakfast room! The guesthouse is located in the city centre - you can easily walk to restaurants & the lighthouse. The breakfast was very good with bread, yoghurt, fruits and more (very good price). The owner was very nice and event sent us our phone charger (that we had forgotten in our room) to our next hotel! Modern and huge bathroom!
This was the most beautiful hotel we had on our 3 week trip to Iceland! It‘s freshly renovated, very high ceiling and the appliances are of decent quality (not only Ikea and if Ikea, then the better quality stuff).
Stykkisholmur is a very scenic little town, absolutely worth a visit.
We stayed here one night after moving from a sub-par
hotel in another town. The accommodations were
great for the price, with a Nespresso coffee machine
and comfortable bed. Nicely furnished with a great
view of the harbor. we were very pleased with our
stay here.
That was one of the best hotels I stayed in Iceland so far. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Hotel is located on the hill with an amazing view. We were also lucky to see Northern Lights. Everything was amazing and I definitely recommend this hotel.
The location is stunning and the cabins are very comfortable. You're really in the middle of idyllic countryside when you stay at this property. I'll be recommending it to all my friends who are planning to visit Iceland.
The breakfast was wonderful and plenty of options to choose from. The location was spot on and easy to get around. I liked that it was a newer hotel with a lovely bar so we could have a drink and make plans for the day.
The staff we delightful and very helpful.. It was our first day in Iceland and they helped us to get oriented.. They also steered us towards a great restaurant for dinner. Highly recommend this Hotel.
Very clean and close to harbor ferry.
Had true Iceland character.
Wonderful communication from host and very easy to find and get checked in.
Loved the homemade slippers.
Very nice hotel, cozy and warm.
Friendly staff and good breakfast with yogurt, jam, croissants, coffee machine and you can even make your own waffles 😀
Very recommended!
Great location next to a golf place, comfy kitchen with everything you need, super clean. It's a self check-in hotel, so you can travel without pressure.
