We had so much fun we ran out of time to walk to the onsen so will have to return. The futon mats are VERY comfortable and after great sleep we woke up to sunshine on the river below and gorgeous fall leaves falling like snow. Host gave us perfect recommendations for a perfect day in Akigawa while he served a delicious breakfast and even taught my kids about the fruit trees in his garden before we headed out to see the local beauty.
