Shower. Sleep. Exceptional Breakfast ,with a beautiful view of the garden. Wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. Drove me to and from my event at 2/3rds the normal rate of taxi services in the area.

Situated in the quiet hamlet of Littley Green in the heart of the Essex countryside, The Compasses is a Victorian Pub steeped in history and tradition.

It was a lovely old fashioned pub, there was nothing fancy or over the top. I arrived and got my key and was taken to my room, we were asked if we wanted a meal or breakfast but the circumstances of our stay didn’t allow for either which was a shame, I saw some of the food and it looked delicious!!! The room was spotless and had everything we needed. I forgot a razor and there was one sitting on the shelf in the shower !!! I couldn’t believe it 😂😂😂 I couldn’t fault the place, we are planning to go back and stay longer and explore the area.

Really lovely property set in the countryside.Really well maintained-extremely wonderful hosts they couldn’t have been better -great communication to and from the property-wonderful beds sooooo comfy and the welcome pack was excellent a total surprise but greatly appreciated 10/10 all round -oh and really good private parking

Set 11 km from Stansted Mountfitchet Station, 21 km from Audley End House and 24 km from Freeport Braintree, The White House features accommodation situated in Takeley.

It was close to Stansted Airport and I was able to leave my car for the week for a small charge. I stayed the night before my flight and the night I returned. I stayed in the Aqua room on my 1st night and the Blue room on my return. Very comfortable and clean rooms, a lovely breakfast in the fridge and tea and coffee and refreshments. The owners were very accommodating and dropped me at the airport, rather than me calling for a taxi. Perfect start and end to my holidays. Will definitely stay again next time I fly from Stansted

    Lovely homely feel in a beautiful and quiet location. Has everything you need for meals etc. Being able to do washing was a bonus. Cathanne is a great host and offered lots of suggestions and nothing was a bother. I would highly recommend this property & would stay again in a heartbeat.

    Great location, just off the main road, but quiet with plenty of parking right outside the room. The room was clean, well equipped and had a nice shower. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Friendly staff. Plenty of choice at breakfast. Very good value. Would be perfect for a stay before or after a flight to/from Stansted.

    Quaint little hotel close to many restaurants and little stores. Charming small town vibes. They have an unbelievable vegan dish that I could eat every day-- and I am not even vegan. Friendly & helpful staff. Close to the airport (15 min drive or less).

    A perfect rural stay. Lovely setting, freshly cooked breakfast with lots of choice. Lovely quiet walks from the B & B. Loads of outings possible to a wide variety of activities. Also excellent taxi transfers to and from Stansted airport to the bed and breakfast via the local taxi service around the corner from the stay - Barnstow Luxury Travel (Luxury describes the vehicle not the price which was excellent value for money).
