This is a very comfortable big room in the town centre of Vila Real, near restaurants, the river, and stores. Perfect if you want a quiet space as well. The staff were phenomenal - Angela, Andrea and Sonia. The gardens are so beautifully kept and produce an oasis of peace. The place is located in town, not far from Mateus Castle But you would never know. But the grounds are extensive and a tranquil river runs alongside. The two swimming pools are a delight. We stayed in the main house the first night and then an apartment for two, as we liked to cook. The breakfast was very tasty. We also had Tapas and wine on one of the evenings which was lovely.

Beautiful and calm atmosphere. Lovely, quiet property, yet can walk to town easily. The breakfast was the best we had in Portugal. Lots of options, including a custom-made omelet and the view from the dining room of the trees was a peaceful environment. The staff in the breakfast room were also very kind and helpful. Bruno at the front desk welcomed us warmly and was a wealth of information in recommendations for dinner and hikes in the area. Bruno was always joyful and clearly loved helping guests. A great manager for the hotel.
