Situated just 18 km from Mullingar Arts Centre, Lir Lodge offers accommodation in Castlepollard with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as full-day security. We had a lovely welcome from Emer when we arrived. Expected just some pastries for breakfast but very pleasantly surprised to find cereals juice and even eggs in the fridge. Our room was lovely and very well equipped. The family were very friendly and helpful.

Excellent location - easy to walk into town. Excellent breakfasts with lots of choice. Avril and Neil were lovely - kind, friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome .

The hosts were lovely and breakfast in their kitchen was amazing. My room & bed were large with firm pillows; I was able to open window to get fresh air; gardens were delightful and the deck was lovely to sit on and relax after a long days drive. Ensuite was a good size with strong HOT water. A small area in hallway was set up with T/C/S, with a jug of milk, biscuits and bottles of cold water available in a small fridge.

Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Templemacateer provides accommodation with a garden and free WiFi. Warm friendly welcome on arrival, I’m Coeliac and the next morning there was gluten free bread etc waiting for me at breakfast. The room was spotless, the bed super comfortable- everything was perfect

Quietly situated, the family-run Shelmalier House is just 5 minutes’ drive from the town of Athlone. It features a sauna, free Wi-Fi, and free private parking. This place was wonderful. The owner Jim went out of his was to make us welcome and comfortable. There was glitch in our plans and Jim went out of his way to get it fixed fot us. It was raining and we got wet and cold-he brought us a heater.that warmed us up. He could not have been more helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend this place. 😀
