Location is excellent: view of Portimao, the sea, the Algarve Autodrome and the estrada de Foia. Which is the route for the 2nd stage of the Volta ao Algarve cycle race, and there are a constant stream of cyclists throughout the year.
There are two nice restaurantes within 100 metres, Both have terraces with the same view. The Paraiso [closed Thursdays] has a log fire in winter and has fresh fruit for desert - if you ask.
Fantastic area for butterflies - eg a swallowtail flew over the patio!
Excellent area for night sky - clear view of the Milky Way.
Covered outdoor dining area and barbeque. Unsuitable for wheelchair users.
Good parking, with room to do three point turn.

The town of Monchique is a super location for walking, hiking or driving in the beautiful western Algarve!
I can think of nothing better than coming home to Villa Xique after a hard day's holidaying! The apartment is spacious, beautifully furnished and very well equipped, we particularly liked the large double en-suite bedrooms. Access to the apartment was easy and our host Isabel was always on call to answer any questions. Local restaurants are good and there is a large Intermarche close by.
Friendly staff. Great breakfast, provided early so I could leave early. Lovely views. Quiet village. Nice pool. Peaceful and tranquil. Clean throughout. Delicious food at the restaurant in village run by the same owner.
Superb location - a short stroll from the village where you find the related pub/restaurant with good food and drinks at decent prices.

The hotel and the rooms are very charming. The owners are very kind and mindful of your needs. They also have a restaurant in the village which has very good quality and affordable prices.
