Maykel and his family were so so hospitable. My room was incredible and comfortable, with a terrace overlooking the lake and volcano concepcion. The sunsets there are amazing! The best part of staying here is that Hector makes you feel like family. He is such a kind man. He's willing to stop what he's doing to help at any time. We felt safe there because he was always either downstairs or nearby. The location is very ideal. It's right off the main road and I liked how it was kind of central to all of the adventures and activities we wanted to do. The Saturday market was also right along that road as well which was cool! It is a great budget friendly place. You have everything you need. Don't expect it to be luxurious but expect to have everything you need here. Plus you get to look out at the lake from your patio! Great coffee spot! There's a couple good restaurants that are walking distance as well as a tiny "pulperia" to get some basic food for the place. If you're wanting to do all of your cooking here just make sure to bring some groceries from the Mainland as your options will be limited.

I really loved my stay at Finca Magdalena. It is so peaceful and quiet there. The rooms are spacious and the view from the balcony just amazing. There are lovely hiking trails in the woods. The staff is friendly and helpful. I will certainly be back.

We ate a breakfast there and all our dinners and had a choice of what we Would like. We had a variety and everything was excellent. Beautiful location and loved being able to swim in the lake at the end of the garden. We booked a kayak tour and a taxi on our way from the ferry to San Juan del Sur also and the driver was waiting when we disembarked.
