I stayed for 3 days and it was nice and relaxing. Amazingly enough, I was the only guest the entire time I was there! The owners were wonderful and they went out of their way to make me feel welcome and treated me like family. Big shout out to my main man Jean, the manager! He went above and beyond to make sure I had a memorable stay and is a great friend! The food, service and off island experiences were fantastic (Jean is an excellent tour guide and has tons of incredible side trips for you!) The island itself is beautiful and full of life. If you want to have a unique experience in nature, yet enjoy the luxury and comfort of home, then this is the perfect place for you! For me this was the experience of a lifetime! Book yourself a few days at very least, you won’t regret it!

I loved that it was a women owned eco resort. No plastic water bottles. The staff was wonderful. Helped me beyond belief getting the tour I really wanted with a great guide. Good food and even an espresso machine!!!

Akagera Ihema lodges has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Akagera. Absolutely stunning view over the park and seeing the sunrise from the little veranda was a highlight. The restaurant has a beautiful view and the food very delicious and generous portions. The bed is big and very comfortable and amazing shower! The extra bed/cribs worked well for our kids. All the staff and manager were so friendly and helpful to us all.

We loved the modern fresh architecture. Stunning views from beautiful rooms with air conditioning and lovely linens. If you like to swim, the lake water is beautiful and the pool is lovely. Kayaks are new and nice. We went out with the local fisherman one night which the hotel arranged and it was so interesting and fun. Lovely area to walk outside the property. Wonderful meals prepared and served when requested with grace and style. The entire staff, without exception, is friendly, helpful and attentive. Simply the best!

Umutuzo Lodge Kivu Lake features a garden, private beach area, a shared lounge and terrace in Buhoro. The location is spectacular and our rooms were beautiful, clean and comfortable. The view from the room is mesmerizing. The staff are extremely helpful and responsive. The chef provided the most delicious menus we’ve had in Rwanda. Excellent meals!
