Large very comfortable bed. Balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens which go down to the lakeside. The area is very quiet and the peaceful garden attracts many birds. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast can be had on the lawn and it is very healthy and plentiful with products grown in their own garden. We had such a lovely stay here, we highly recommend it.

They always try their best to make us feel comfortable and help to answer all of our questions. The management team is very responsive. They even helped to recommend tour agencies and drivers when we were planning our itineraries. The resort is helping women to get quality job. The resort is very close to the headquarter of Volcanoes National Park, just a 20 minutes drive, so we get to prepare our activities in the Park with ease. The kitchen of the hotel is pretty nice too, as a vegan, they provide me a lot of options.

De nombreuses installations sont proposées sur place, notamment un jardin, une plage privée et une terrasse. Umutuzo lodge fait parti de cet endroit qu’on aimerait garder pour soi. La route pour mener au lodge est encore une piste, on a ainsi l’impression d’arrivé dans un refuge secret. Nous avons séjourné 3 jours en famille et avons apprécié la vue magnifique sur le Lac Kivu et le confort des lodges, la literie de qualité, la douche chaude et la belle terrasse pour contempler le paysage. Toute l’équipe est à l’écoute et disponible et Philippe est un hôte attentif et passionné. Nous avons eu la chance de partager des repas autour de la table d’hôte et d’en apprendre davantage sur le Rwanda et la région. La cuisine du chef est excellente, du petit déjeuner au dîner et il propose des options végétariennes. Nous avons pu profiter des excusions en bateau et aussi faire du canoë-kayak. Si vous cherchez un petit coin de paradis lors de votre road trip au Rwanda, pour vous détendre, faites une étape à Umutuzo. Ça vaut le détour !

Situé à Akagera, l’établissement Akagera Ihema lodges possède un jardin, une terrasse, un restaurant et un bar. Gorgeous property, sweeping vistas, newly decorated, large contemporary rooms. Wonderful proximity to the park. Beds were incredibly comfortable. Large window in the shower has views of the lake. You can see Tanzania in the distance! Great restaurant with beautiful views from the terrace. Five star location. Don’t hesitate to book. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Everything was amazing. We received an exceptional welcome, the food was healthy and delicious, and we got all the assistance we needed for touring. My kids loved the lodge and all the activities they experienced, including cruising on Lake Kivu, swimming, enjoying the fishermen experience, and of course, playing cards. We had an unforgettable time. The owners, Aicha and Ivan, are incredibly kind and caring. It was a wonderful vacation. Umurobyi is a peaceful and quiet place - with a great view, perfect for relaxing and unwinding.
