Great location, close to train station and within walking distance of main places of interest. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Room was spacious, spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed. Our room overlooked a construction site next door but the windows blocked out any noise. One of the features for us was the sauna/yoga area. It was very well appointed with a lovely chill out area, complete with complementary herbal tea. Would stay here again.

The city is the namesake of the Salzach River which runs through it, and alongside this beautiful river lays the Schloss Mirabell, one of the many impressive castles within the city limits. Blown away,, what a lovely city and we will be back next year for a longer stay. We felt safe and comfortable as we could find our way about easily plus the locals were friendly and it was so lovely we could live there.OK, keeping it real, we were there in May which is my favourite time to travel so we were blessed with superb weather and yes, it would be interesting in January and as I have been to Vienna many times in January I can say visit when the weather is tipped to be right for you and this city will not disappoint. The Coffee was good, tourist walks great as was the food and if you are counting steps, you will get a huge boost in your activity count as it was all too easy to want to walk more and we did and loved it.

A fabulous city for Sound of Music lovers, and this tour is a highlight. The old town and Hohensalzburg Fortress make a great visit too and this is a delightful, compact city that has beautiful architecture and fine restaurants. Everyone seems more relaxed and friendly here than in busy Vienna and Saltzburg is well worth three nights to take in most of the sights. To ascend the castle and sit for lunch at the restaurant near the exit for the funicular and enjoy spectacular mountain views was a wonderful moment for us.

Easy to walk around on the flat and all places close by.
Easy to walk around on the flat and all places close by. Bought SalzCard enabled free travel plus entry to many attractions.
Mirabelle Palace/Gardens, up hill to the Fortress, all the Sound of Music musical sites, and a boat ride enjoyed. Views from Fortress across Salzburg and to mountains were lovely. Locals very friendly.
The cable car was in repair throughout April and we had snow too, so we couldn't go up but think this is only once month per year re cable car so worth checking before you go if this is on your agenda.

Salzburg is a great city.
Salzburg is a great city. The castle is a must see via the funicular railway up to the top with spectacular views over the city and beyond. Across the river is the Mirabell Palace and gardens which is a beautiful area to sit or explore. We enjoyed sitting outside the Glockenspiel cafe for coffee in the morning and a refreshing drink in the afternoon.

Salzburg is without a doubt the most beautiful city on Earth...
Salzburg is without a doubt the most beautiful city on Earth…..and Austria is the most beautiful country on the planet. That’s huge of me to say as I come from Australia!!!
Everywhere you look in Salzburg there’s a spectacular view. The city deserves 56/10.
Everyone should visit Salzburg at least once - or ten times - during their life!
Super hotel. About a 20 min walk from the train station and just on the edge of the old town, so everything was within walking distance. We had incredibly hot weather while we were visiting and having air-conditioning was a god send. Fabulous breakfast- I miss it already! We purchased the city card from the hotel, which really allowed us to take advantage of everything Salzburg had to offer. There is an outdoor pool within a 20 min walk of the hotel that was lovely for some down time and escaping the heat.
Everything about Hotel Wolf was perfect! The location was in the heart if Old Town Salzburg with shops, restaurants and castle within its vicinity. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was extremely clean. I loved everything about this hotel. The handwritten welcome note was a personal touch especially that the hotel is family-owned. I highly recommend this place and will no doubt be staying here again in the near future.
Above average breakfast.
Excellent location, just next to Hauptbahnhof (Main trainstation of Salzburg).
Many restaurants, including Starbucks, McDonalds, BurgerKing and good Austrian restaurants.
Close to bus station and many tourist attractions.
Receptionist was great and helpful.
Restaurant staff were great and very attentive.
Clean room clean hotel.
Great parking just below hotel at 1eur per hour or 14eur per 24hrs.
The room was nicely furnished and with 3 beds we still had plenty of room to move around. We were happy with parking being located right out front of the building. The breakfast was very tasty and the space was nice. If you are using the metro system to come in to Salzburg, this is your hotel.
We liked that the toilet room and the shower room were separate places. Travelling with a teen, this was a really convenient feature.
As we were travelling by train with quite a lot of luggae the hotel was extremely convenient to the train station (100m). The room was a good size and quite comfortble and the staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. Great view of the Hohensalzburg Fortress from the breakfast room and of the mountains from our hotel room. Only a relatively short walk into the new town and old town. A very easy town to get around.
It is located on a beautiful property with a spacious yard, big garden and amazing views.
It had free parking , an option to eat breakfast and excellent service from the owner.
The room was big with a balcony and decorated in Austrian style.
It is a little further out from the center of Salzburg but bus 22 stops super close to the hotel and takes you straight to Old Town in 20 minutes.
The hotel's location right by the train tracks was not evident on booking. It's location in New Town was good with lots of shops and restaurants around it. Parking was very convenient. Breakfast was wonderful but an additional 20 E extra per person per day. The train area was very noisy all night outside the window. We knew it would be a longer walk to the old town of Salzburg.
Location is super close to bus stop. It is little far from central/old town location. However, bus no. 21 connects it pretty well. Even the Salzburg Hbf train is at walkable distance, if you don’t have heavy luggage. Hotel staffs are friendly and will try every possible way to accommodate your requests.
Very nice hotel if you don’t need top end luxury. The location couldn’t have been better. Just a 5 minute walk to the old town and only a 15 minute taxi ride to the airport. Breakfast had a good selection of continental and scrambled eggs. The staff was pleasant, helpful and spoke good English.
Friendly and very helpful reception staff. Nice single room with all facilities. Peaceful and decent hotel to stay near train station if to travel forth and back from skiing and then to airport. And just 7 min to walk to Mirabell Palace and old town of Salzburg. Perfect!
The best thing about this hotel is the location in old town near tourist sites and restaurants. Our room was very quiet, and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast buffet was attractive and tasty, and the breakfast room was pleasant. Staff will cook eggs to order.
It was less than a 10 min walk from the main Salzburg Banhof/train station on arrival. It was also within easy walking distance of the city centre. When departing, a direct bus to Salzburg Airport was also available just down and almost across the road from the hotel.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody staying in the beautiful city of Salzburg. It is very central to the Old Town & staff were all lovely. Special thanks to the man working afternoons/evenings- he was particularly kind & helpful with our requests.
This hotel was just so lovely. The host is exceptional and the facilities are divine.
It’s down a gorgeous little street right in the heart of the Old Town of Salzburg. Highly recommend
The staff is friendly, there is a restaurant/bar and there is a lot of parking. It’s off the main road so it is quiet. I travel to Salzburg frequently and this is my hotel of choice.
A modern hotel close to the old town of Salzburg. Rooms were small, but cozy. The access was easy, with a code that opened all doors. Nice design, comfortable bed, no street noise.
