Castel Saint-Léonard, hotel in Falaise

Castel Saint-Léonard offers accommodations in Falaise, 22 miles from Racecourse of Caen and 22 miles from Botanical Garden of Caen.

We loved the entire experience. Staying at Castel St-Leonard is like time-travel into a classical storybook adventure. Charles introduced us to the Chateau with a short history tour of the common areas on the main floor and then accompanied us to our rooms. Each private room was elegantly decorated with furniture and artwork from former ages, yet backed up with modern conveniences. Our stay in the spacious main suite was very comfortable with a large bed and very nice bath with shower. Charles ensured we started each day with a light breakfast of cereal, fresh fruit, juice, and pastries.

La maison des remparts, hotel in Falaise

La maison des remparts is located in Falaise, just 23 miles from Botanical Garden of Caen and 24 miles from Ornano Stadium.

Charming stay in a local person's Historic home. The home is actually built into the old ramparts of the old village. Very sweet family and nice experience. You need to be able to walk up a spiral staircase with your bags.

Le Manoir du Ribardon, hotel in Falaise

Offering garden views, Le Manoir du Ribardon in Neuvy-au-Houlme features accommodations, a garden, and a shared lounge.

We stayed here at the last minute due to a booking mistake on my part at another manor. David was so accommodating and made our stay absolutely incredible. This is an 18th century manor that's been renovated perfectly- it's completely modern in amenities and accommodations, while keeping all the original charm and history. David was so kind to book dinner reservations for us, and the place he recommended was excellent. The bed and linens were very comfortable and made for a great night's sleep. The breakfast was the best I had in Normandy- perfect little crepes with homemade blackberry jam, a baked flan characteristic of the region, brioche toast, Camembert, and lovely seeded bread. And the best coffee! David also has an art collection worthy of a museum, along with many pieces of furniture from the original period. All in all, I can't recommend Le Manoir du Ribardon enough- you will not find any better!!

Beautifully designed and renovated specious château, surrounded by gorgeous gardens and woods. 10 minutes drive to the city of Fallaise, supermarkets, restaurants and shops. Marc and Syllvie are very welcoming, kind and attentive hosts. They treat their guests with warmth, hospitality and attention. We enjoyed amazing delicious breakfasts in large dining room overlooking the beautiful gardens. Homemade crapes, croissants, cakes, yogurts, and jams were a special treat. Thank you Marc and Syllvie for making our stay at your beautiful château so unique and special! We are going to miss you and Jango (the Golden Retriever). We will be back! Kind Regards, Masha, Dmitry, Annie and Katie

The museum telling the story of French civilians during WWII - very moving. You could buy an English handheld that gave you all the information although the exhibits were in both French and English. William The Conqueror Castle - again an excellent exhibition in both French and English. Handheld tablet let you see all the rooms as they would have been used and there were holograms of the historical kings and queens who had lived there.

A lovely town, we enjoyed walking around and reading about the WWII history of the town. We had a nice dinner at one of the many restaurants and visited Château de Falaise (William the Conquerer's castle). This castle has one of the very best tour experiences we've had. We went early and beat the busloads of tourists that arrived as we were leaving, so we almost had the place to ourselves for our self-guided tour. It was a quick overnight stop for us, but one we're very glad that we made!

A fantastic castle, where William the Conqueror was born and raised. There was a great deal of World War 2nd history. The old part of the city was very interesting. We were only there for an afternoon and evening, but what we saw, made us want to return.

This town was almost completely destroyed during the allied attack from Normandy beaches but a few buildings remain. William the Conquerors castle is worth a visit as are the two large churches and museum dedicated to world war 2. Be prepared to be disappointed at the anti British sentiment on the posters in the church beside William’s castle commenting on the liberation of the town and its consequential destruction.

How wonderful to arrive at this beautiful guest house, hidden behind the large entrance doors in Falaise! We received a warm and friendly welcome from the owners, who clearly love sharing their beautiful home with visitors to this historic town. Our thoughtfully decorated room was exceptionally clean and comfortable and we enjoyed a peaceful nights sleep. Breakfast was a delight and included freshly baked bread and a selection of home made jams. We highly recommend a stay at La Maison Des Buis!

All the staff we met were excellent, very friendly & helpful. Room was spotless, bed was comfy. We were given a ground floor room, as requested, very welcoming & helpful with our dog. Breakfast was very good - liked the addition of regional products. Bonus was the big grassed area around the hotel where we could walk our dog. Plenty of parking.

Loved everything. We felt very lucky to be staying here. Falaise is much more interesting than we expected and being able to stay in this wonderful house is a great bonus. It's called "Castel" but it's a beautiful house with spectacular rooms. Bill the Conk's castle is 10 minute's walk away. Now that's a "Castle".

Our French host made us feel extremely welcome and explained about the history of the hotel, very slowly in French (because we're learning). The breakfast was wonderful & in really elegant surroundings.
