Loved the port and the naval base / ships. Loved the street markets. Loved the bars and cafes in the old town.
We didn't really need a car in Toulon - the station is walking distance from the port and you can walk to everything except beaches (which you can take a boat to reach from the waterfront.
Prices are reasonable. It is not a Moviestar / Celebrity spotting location like so many places on the Cote de Azure. It is populated by genuine and friendly local people plus some tourists.

We went to spent time with the family, the location was secondary importance. The house was nice but overall the part of the town we saw is not so pretty, lots of closed military installations. We did not do our research properly and expected a smaller, more touristic, coastal town. The Faron is nice and you have the beaches. For us it worked. Best pastries of my life at Chanteclair.

I had been to Toulon several years ago with mates for a rugby weekend but coming back this time, again for the Rugby World Cup we decided to stay close to the beach and harbour and found the location, and the city just a fantastic place to spend a few days towards the end of the summer.

We stayed in an apartment within 50 metres of the beach for one night during the off-season. We parked for free outside the property which was very convenient. There were nice cafes, restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The neighbourhood was friendly, safe and walkable. We wished we had stayed two or more days to explore a bit more.

Toulon is a nice city, offering most of what people could want.
The old parts have been tastefully restored, and with the vibrant street markets, Toulon is colorful and inviting.
There are restaurants in abundance, and there is a good cheap bus service around the area.
The seafront offers a regular inexpensive ferry service to good beaches further along the coast, and a weeks season ticket for unlimited bus and ferry use is a little under €10 pp. good value!
One point, once out of the central area, the buildings are rather dreary and unimaginative. The old parts are far nicer.

Toulon is very nice as a vacation spot; restaurants are pretty good. The weather was very hot though but, still by the sea we had a breeze that made it bereable. The night life is pretty good, too. Music, shows almost every night. There are very nice parks where you can spend time and have a good break. There are museums you can visit, The Library is very nice and the architecture is remarcable. People are nice and welcoming. There are plenty of things to do when in Toulon. We took the ferry to Le Sablette, we drove to San Tropez, to Nice, to Marseilles, to Cannes. We had a good time in Toulon!
Comfy dorm beds and washroom and showers in dorm room , light for bed and charge points each dorm beds, lockers available a new hostel

Go up Toulon cable car to mount Faron it's lovely views and nice walks mount Faron catch the bus there was no
Room was clean, rating this hotel 7 out of 10, it would be 8 if
- there was warm food for breakfast
and it would be 9 if
- the room didn't have such a dirty walls everywhere
and to make it 10, you need to fix the elevators to the parking (it is not new issue, right?), this way the route between parking and reception is more or less like epic escape route game ;)
All this can be improved, hope this helps a bit :)
Wonderful two-bedroom apartment at the edge of the historic center and 10min walking distance from the harbour of Toulon. This place is a complete and very well equipped flat with two bedrooms, lounge with dining area and separate modern kitchen. It is newly renovated and super clean. It has a beamer, big screen and WiFi. We got parking every day in the streets close by for 2.50 EUR per day.
You will be staying with a charming family in a self contained en suite room of a modernized apartment, close to the Port and local beach and promenade.A local supermarket is sited next door and you can walk to the local bistro's.If you want to stay somewhere different and "homely" away from routine Hotel experience then this is for you.
This is an amazing place to stay. Everything is new, clean room, great views.
The staff is really friendly. It was one of the most comfortable beds I had during my stay in France. The roof top terrace is a great bonus. Location is just across the train station and I was worried about the noise, but it did not bother us during the stay.
Apartment is exactly as described online. It's bright and airy tastefully decorated. Central location for exploring and lovely shops etc nearby. Les Halles de Toulon is just around the corner and is amazing for food. Number 3 Bus a short distance to beautiful beaches at Mourillion.
Best part was the friendliness of Lola when we arrived - very helpful and spoke terrific english. Also Margaret on reception next day - was so friendly too and kind and helpful to us, thank you both. you are a credit to the hotel. Hotel so clean and in a great location.
Central location but only 3 minutes walk from station. Modernised 1980s hotel with interesting decor. Excellent lifts. Shower, taps etc worked well and were modern. Comfortable bed. Very clean, quiet room. Friendly efficient staff.
The concept for this hotel is good. Natural products, a we work kind of space off reception. Always clean. Very modern bathroom, very central to the railway station and the center of the city.
Hotel is situated in a very noisy busy area of town, not peaceful port side hotel as it was described on Booking.com
If you look for something quiet, reconsider
The hotel is unusual but very cute. The room was very specious and comfortable. Breakfast very good. The location perfect. We enjoyed our stay very much.😀
Mattieu and Fanny were excellent house owners. Always accessible via cell phone. The location is at the heart of Toulon. You can wander all around on foot.
Location was fantastic: hillside view of Toulon! Actually, quite close to the railway station but a bit of a climb with luggage (easy stroll downhill)!
