The hotel was excellent. The room was spotless, nicely decorated with modern facilities and very comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. It is a short walk to either the sea front or to the shops on Lord Street. The continental breakfast was very good (cereals, fruit, yoghurts and a selection of warm pastries - lovely). This is a family run hotel and they clearly take pride in everything about it. I would not hesitate to book here again, in fact, if I am going to Southport this will be my first choice.

There seems to be more eating/bar places opening up along lord street which is good because it was starting to look empty. More shops would be good and maybe longer opening hours for some that holiday makers like to browse in.
The biggest downfall for us is the pier having closed down and I am sure a lot of people must think the same because it was always busy with people walking the length of the pier and this really does put us off going as often as we would have done.
I would not like to walk along lord street on my own after the majority of shops close because it can be a bit intimidating when the doorways start to be taken over with sleeping bags and duvets etc.
We have stayed in the Waterfront hotel but not since all the building works started all around it and such a shame the big Hungry Horse there closed down. So finally Southport is not as appealing as it used to be at the moment and fingers crossed it will improve quickly.

We were pleasantly surprised by the size and variety of shops within the town. Lots of lovely little arcades and side streets as well as many big known brands and some independent shops. We loved the old buildings and the walk around the pleasure lake. We were only there for the weekend and could have spent a lot longer exploring. Lots of restaurants and coffee shops to chose from. Southport had authenticity and charm.

Really like Southport, lots for children down at the marina, so many beautiful swans and huge geese😊crazy golf , timber playground, helter skelter and funfair, open green spaces and parks, more than enough shops & supermarkets , great pubs and endless eating places. Trains every 15 mins gets you to Liverpool City and beyond to Chester City and Chester Zoo, take a train or bus to Ormskirk market.

A tired Victorian seaside town that is still, overshadowed by the stoic stature of Queen Victoria, the boulevard Lord Street among others, aping those of Paris struggling to appeal to visitors and the locals alike. Didn't visit the Museum as planned, the Street flowers pots are grey, the flowers are barely springing up inline with the weather. The area around railway station and the Merseyside Rail itself, are in such a sad state, a reflection of the current local poor economy.

We have stayed at the same hotel many times and we particularly like the secure underground carpark for peace of mind and the easy lift access from it to reception and to our room after checking in. The new Restaurant menu is now much improved, so we gave it a try and we were pleasantly contented. Normally in the evening we would eat out at the Grand Brassier or the Vincent.
Southport itself has a very pleasant atmosphere and is a nice relaxing place to be.

They have provided everything you need to make your stay comfortable Great location, just can't praise it enough, We booked small double room , it's still roomy enough for 2 people
Even the continental breakfast is lovely, and filling ,
And I usually like my full English but that gets my praise 👏
A great find! We have family in Southport so have stayed in plenty of different hotels and apartments, but we've not come across anywhere like this before. Amazing location, quirky and stylish, equipped with everything we needed, and check-in instructions were really clear and helpful. We'll definitely be going back next time we're in town.
Room was excellent value for money. Lady on reception was excellent. I had made an error on booking regarding our room but the lady rectified this without a fuss. She was very friendly and helpful.
Excellent position of hotel for Southport.
Hotel currently going through renovations but did nothing to spoil the break
The location is great with it being on Lord Street..u've got all the shops and a back street pub which is cheap..we always stay at the Scarisbrick hotel as its friendly and comfortable..it also has a great cocktail bar in the hotel which is 2 cocktails for £5.
A fantastic find in Southport, much better value and set-up than some of the local hotels. Has everything you need to eat in, and perfect location for dining out. Sophie was really responsive and great giving us all the information we needed.
If you're ever visiting Southport then this is the hotel to stay. Absolutely spotless and the rooms were very authentic that gave the place so much charm. The owner Cliff couldn't of been more friendly and helpful. Fabulous !
Great breakfast with plenty of choices. We also like the location next to the lake marina plus the underground parking facility. Can’t fault the hotel, meets all our needs for a good nights sleep in Southport.
The breakfast was incredible. We came with our dog, who was not allowed in the breakfast area. The owners allowed us to stay in the bar instead, which was really nice. The hotel building has charm.
We have stayed at the bold several times a year over the past seven years . It’s our go to place when staying in Southport . The staff are great the hotel is spotless and in a fantastic location .
Went to Southport for the flower show, so this hotel was ideal being only a short walk to the show. Room was quite nice and the bar and staff was good. It also had a lift which was very welcome.
this was my second visit and it is a great hotel. It is very clean. The owners are very friendly and the location is just brilliant for Southport. I will definitely be staying here again.
Room was very nice, bed was very comfy, ideal location for Southport with lots of Cafes and Pubs. Hotel was very clean, staff were excellent. Good value for money
