Lake Views from Every Angle
On a narrow peninsula protruding into Lake Garda, Sirmione is a wonderful town famed for its multi-turreted castle, Roman remains and hot springs.
The 13th-century lakeside castle makes quite an impressive sight as you cross its drawbridge to enter the old town beyond. From its walls there are lovely views across red-roofed buildings towards the trees hiding the ruins of a huge villa that belonged to 1st century BC Roman poet Catullus. Part of the complex included baths benefitting from the thermal waters, and the town still has a spa today on the opposite side of the promontory.
Nearby is the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore with its 15th-century frescoes, and the surrounding narrow, cobbled streets are home to stone buildings and several Sirmione hotels on Lake Garda. The majority of hotels are mid-range, but there are still a few 4 and 5-star hotels in Sirmione to choose from.
Booking.com also has lots of accommodation by the lake in the newer part of town, and its Lugana Vecchia area has a UNESCO World Heritage-listed prehistoric site.
To the west of Sirmione is the lakefront town of Desenzano del Garda, while to the east is Peschiera del Garda, close to the Gardaland and Canevaworld theme parks. The nearest airport is Verona Catullo Airport to the south-east.

Great historic location, but extremely busy even in early May
thermal spas and mud treatments are excellent and must be tried
Lake Garda sunsets are beautiful
the castle is excellent
quieter north end of the island is worth exploring with some historic old churches
some great restaurants (Caruso's), but elsewhere waiters could be disinterested and unhelpful
great for ice cream!

It was great for the 4 nights we had there.
It was great for the 4 nights we had there. We arrived Wednesday and the town was not so busy, come Friday and Saturday it was busy and this was in May.
Walk up into the middle of the spur to find all the restaurants, which were ideally priced. I was surprised as I expected them to be expensive but most were very reasonably. The ones with decks by the water were a little more expensive but the view was great.
Great food and lovely Lugana white win.

It's a beautiful place to visit and relax. Some of it is a bit touristy but overall it's lovely. Big variation in the cost of food and drinks, so shopping around is a must before picking your restaurant.

Such a beautiful spot.
Such a beautiful spot. We stayed right in the heart of the historic centre and I can’t recommend it enough. The people are so friendly and the area is just beautiful. It’s not overly expensive compared to a lot of Italy. It is touristy - but not in an unbearable way. The locals are very welcoming and helpful. It is small so I recommend 1-2 days.

Sirmione is a great location to stay for a long weekend or 4 days. Very relaxing with plenty of sites, eating houses and bars. It's also a stone throw from the ferry port if you want to visit other towns on the lake.
Famous Hotel in best place, good parking inside the area and also not far to Sirmione himself. We enjoyed the pool when we arrive and also in the morning before breakfast, also the location to the Lago di Garda is amazing.
The room was not the biggest but we stayed just one night on our trip to Cinque Terre so it was great, cool and clean.
Also, the breakfast was amazing we found all what we needed and something more delicious.
I think we will back soon and maybe some other friends I talked to.
This was the perfect vacation for my family! The Grand Hotel Terme in Sirmione provided us with an unforgettable experience. The luxurious accommodations, impeccable service from the staff, and spectacular views of Lake Garda left us breathless. We were particularly impressed and extremely satisfied with the exceptional service we received at the restaurant and the professionalism of the staff there. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a true oasis of relaxation and elegance.
Hotel B&B il Mosaico was such a gem! We spent the day in Sirmione and wanted to stay close by, this location was perfect for accessing everything Sirmione had to offer. The building was beautiful, the room was very modern and spacious and comfortable for our stay. We ate dinner and breakfast at the attached restaurant and it was delicious!! The staff was also incredibly kind and accommodating. It was overall a very pleasant experience!!
The swimming pool. I booked the hotel because of its location on Lake Garda, but the deck of the hotel leads to a very unnapealing murky dark water, bummer, but the pool compensated for that. Great lounges the pool area and the grassy area too. The A/C was great (a rare thing in Italy). the modern decor mix with the 60's design of the hotel. The varandas were a great place to have aperitivo. Free Parking and free pet stay.
This place is really great!
Good location, 5 minutes by car to the thermae or 15 minutes on foot. The hotel has very tasty restaurant where we had dinner. Best pasta with pistachio sauce in my whole trip to Italy.
Very tasty breakfast, had champagne too.
Welcoming and friendly staff. We were allowed to check out later as there was bad weather.
Would very much like to come back here again!
The property was very beautiful. We chose a garden room and it was just unbelievably scenic and we enjoyed our time there. Our host was just the sweetest lady, she left us snacks and enough coffee to last us until the next morning. She spoke little English but her kindness was like nowhere else we stayed in Italy. And because of that Lake Garda will always be close to my heart.
We enjoyed a lot the stay at hotel Porto Azzuro in Sirmione, it is a very nice hotel, very clean and the rooms are spacious. We appreciated as well the breakfast, with a large variety of choices. We could also take bikes from the hotel, which was a good benefit to reach the center. We will definitely come back to the hotel, it has a good value for what it offfers.
The hotel has a deck to the lake and it offers towels without extra cost. It is great to swim, sunbathe or admire the view. The room is very comfortable, modern and clean. The breakfast is fantastic.
The location is great, inside Sirmione walls. The hotel has reserved a parking lot right outside the town wall, you can go to the hotel by the shuttle or walking.
The location was terrific. We had a view of Lake Garda, but were outside of the busy tourist area. Restaurants within walking distance, including one nextdoor. We had a lovely room on the second floor with a patio on the side with a view of the lake where we enjoyed our breakfast. Parking was free behind the building, off the street.
All I can say is WOW! Small very clean modern hotel in the heart of Sirmione. The service from Taniana who is the general manager was absoletely FANTASTIC. The included breakfast was also excellent and easily the best we had in our 17 day Northern Italy trip. The room was very modern and the bed very comfortable.
We loved our brief stay here when visiting lake garda. Its a 20minute walk to the main centres of sirmione which makes this property perfect for getting away from the hustle and bustle. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable with a beautiful location right next to the lake. I wish I could've stayed longer.
Wonderful room with a view of the lake and lawn with chairs to the lake. The hotel was extremely clean and the staff helpful. The location was great, an easy road to get to and then an easy walk to the old Sirmione.
Excellent position between Gardalend/Pescharia and Sirmione. Old but very good hotel. Clean, comfortable, nice premises. Laura and Sergio are great hosts, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and satisfying.
I have stayed in this lovely hotel before. It is perfectly situated next to Lake Garda and is a short bus ride from the centre of Sirmione.
The staff are welcoming and friendly, it is a delightful place to stay
Views, sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking.
