Room:
The room is fine. This is actually my fourth stay here, as I’ve always been drawn back by the tranquility, peace, and comfort the place offers. However, I didn’t expect my fourth visit to come with such a different experience.

Davao is recognised as a vibrant go ahead city and thought to be the safest city in the Philippines mainly due to the Duturte style of leadership over many years.
Like any city in any country tourists / visitors and locals alike should always be aware of their surroundings
Traffic can be an issue at times as many improvements are underway ...
The people I have met or interacted with have all been friendly ...
Some great shopping malls and pleasant places to visit... too many to mention

It's 34 years since my last visit to Davao, and I was thoroughly disappointed! Except for the addition of some nice-looking high-rise buildings and some additional corporate buildings, no real change for the better!
The first thing you see is the airport terminal, and it's a poor joke. It's a tiny, filthy, cramped, over-crowded building, with inadequate seating throughout, and it's supposedly a terminal. It should be demolished immediately. Try looking at Clark, Pampanga, as an example of what a terminal can resemble: a clean and spacious serviceable building.
It's a dirty, poorly organised city. Whoever has been mayor or councillor has done it a disservice, or ripped off money! It's not much above a slum. Malls and dirty buildings like Gaisano Mall should be demolished. The roads need widening, and traffic diverted to create a free flow of traffic around and through the Business District.

We went to Dusit D2 hotel for dinner on the first night of our stay. The buffet was pretty good with choices of western and local dishes. The Hotel Staff were very friendly and respectful. Hotel Ambience was lovely. We went to visit Agpao public market and bought some local products. We also went to Magsaysay Market and bought Pomelo fruits and local sweets. We also went and stayed at Dusit Thani Lubi Plantation Resort in Davao De Oro which is an excellent place to spend holidays given the lovely facilities on offer. Staff were very friendly, courteous and provided excellent service at all times. This place is 1 of a kind and is a lovely place to stay. It is easy to get around Davao City as taxis, grab and public transport is just around to corner if needed.

Davao City is much more like Metro Manila.
Davao City is much more like Metro Manila. Everything is in here, though if you'd like some more experience, go out of the city and experience Samal, Davao Del Sur and the neighboring Davao provinces. Also, food prices is generally higher than expected.

Davao City is known for its cleanliness, safety, and vibrant culture, offering a perfect balance of urban convenience and natural beauty. It is one of the safest cities in the Philippines, with strict law enforcement and well-maintained public spaces. The city boasts stunning attractions such as Mount Apo, Samal Island’s pristine beaches, and the Philippine Eagle Center. Visitors can enjoy fresh seafood, tropical fruits like durian, and a variety of local and international cuisine.
However, some may find the city's strict regulations, such as liquor bans and smoking restrictions, a bit limiting. Traffic congestion can also be an issue during peak hours, and compared to Manila or Cebu, nightlife options are more subdued. Despite these minor drawbacks, Davao’s commitment to environmental sustainability, organized urban planning, and high quality of life make it an excellent destination for those seeking adventure, relaxation, and a peaceful lifestyle.

Davao City is truly a gem in the southern Philippines!
Davao City is truly a gem in the southern Philippines! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by how clean, organized, and safe the city felt. The people are warm and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile.
One of the highlights of my trip was visiting Eden Nature Park, a lush mountain retreat where you can enjoy breathtaking views, fresh air, and fun activities like ziplining and horseback riding. Another must-visit is Philippine Eagle Center, where you can see the majestic national bird up close.
Of course, no trip to Davao is complete without exploring Samal Island, just a short ferry ride away. The white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters make it a paradise for beach lovers. People’s Park in the city center is also a great spot to unwind and appreciate the beautiful landscape.
The food scene in Davao is fantastic! I enjoyed the freshest seafood at Marina Tuna and indulged in the famous Durian, which is surprisingly delicious once you get past the strong smell. Don’t forget to try Davao’s Malagos Chocolate, known for its rich, premium quality.
What sets Davao apart is its strict implementation of rules, making it one of the safest cities in the country. Whether you're a solo traveler, a couple, or a family, Davao City offers something for everyone.

This is my go to hotel when i arrived in davao city, i like it has both pool and beach, although you cant swim in the beach. I love it has a spa that i can have a well deserve massage after a long trip and a buffet breakfast. Has small gym or you can jog around early morning.
Cheap taxis always available and food shop and cheap market nearby. A wonderful terrace with a view of the sea and the city and the surrounding mountains.
Great professional service provided by Front desk Staffs. Everyone were so friendly. The breakfast was amazing! Amazing location for touring Davao city!
