"Family" room on the beach had super nice beach view, strong aircon and WiFi, came with mat (appreciated) and broom and other essentials. We were there for about 20 hours starting about 4pm and didn't hear ANY music or other sounds, just lovely ocean waves (and occasional bark from many dogs that live on the beach). Contrast that with the northern Thong Nai Pan beach, which unfortunately has annoying loud live and recorded music. Soft white sand beach.

Nice peaceful and quite village in the north of Koh Phangan with an intact local community. Two Seven Elevens and some local supermarkets as well as a drug store, diving centers and several nice restaurants are located in Chaloklum. Taxi boat services to the beaches of Haad Kkom, Bottle beach or Thong Nai Pan are offered at the pier or near Viva Pizzeria.

We stayed just outside of Chaloklum, but it's a sweet place with a relaxed vibe and all the necessary amenities (cash point, pharmacy, etc.) We weren't a huge fan of the food in the town, but it's very close to a lot of amazing restaurants.

Not so posh as other locations but we loved it.
Not so posh as other locations but we loved it. A mix of authentic thai, holiday makers and expats, meaning a good range of eateries. Beach is not great but a 10 minute walk takes you to Malibu beach which is lovely and it's close to lots of other beaches too by motorbike (eg haad salad, wang mai resort).
We had brekky every day at the world's end (owned by a swedish lady) and dinner every day at Leo's Thai, run by Leo and his wife (both Thai). They were so friendly and lovely and food was delicious!

Chaloklum is a genuine fishing village in the north of Koh Phangan, so go here if you want to see the fishing boats, and all of the paraphernalia associated with a fishing fleet. However, Chaloklum also has beautiful beaches and a clear sea, great for a day at the beach. There are also a lot of restaurants, cafes & bars which cater for tourists. The bonus is that there's also a wonderful German Bakery, baking fresh bread & pastries everyday (their chocolate croissant are the best available this side of Vienna!).

Beautiful beach, 2 pools one of them directly connected to the beach, super showers to wash off salt and sand after swimming. Very nice garden & lawn. Wonderful, charming staff Opal & Rainbow, very flexibel and very driven to help with reservations and wishes. The bungalows are generous in space and light and modern without being flashy.
very cute little house, exactly as pictured. It is in a little area with other local houses and it feels a bit like living in a Thai village. The house is well built and well equipped (fridge, kettle, balcony furniture etc). The very nice beach is about 2 minutes walk, and so is a 7/11. The village is very quiet but you will find a few restaurants to chose from. We loved Madam Saak thong, so yummy. This is not a place if you expect hotel style service, but perfect if you wanna be away from resorts.
We really loved that location- Chaloklum beach is a wonderful place, the water is super crystal blue, no waves, ideal for families with children, there are two beach bars and 2 beach volleyball courts. Nearby is our favourite restaurant Kaif - with European kitchen, tasty indeed - if you are missing that.
About the place: 2 bedrooms on the 1st floor - one with double bed and one with 2 twin beds - ideal for family with 2 children. On the ground floor there is a kitchen, living room and wc.
We absolutely adored our stay. The hosts are some of the kindest and most helpful people you will ever meet, they go above and beyond to make your stay amazing. The property was so nice, really clean and had all the amenities you’d need. The air conditioning was AMAZING, shower is powerful and the kitchen utensils are great. The location is so nice, Chaloklum Bay is easily one of the best beaches on Koh Phangan.
The view from the balcony is amazing! Simply stunning. If you like staying at a resort most of the time, enjoying the view, reading, the pool, then this is the place to be!
You can wade trough a river to get to a nice beach and into Chaloklum town - water is up to the hips, depending on the tide could be to the head or knees. It is better to rent a scooter.
Rooms are spacious, location is close to Chaloklum beach which is very clean and has its own vibes.
Stuff is very kind and supportive.
Restaurants fruit shops, laundry are very close.
I would definitely recommend that villas for families or couples who are looking for place to live in Phangan for long period of time.
PERFECT, Our stay at SeaSalt was absolutely magical and so much more than we’d expected. Right on the beach, within walking distance from several delicious restaurants and the night market, beautifully designed and meticulously clean. Highly recommended - 5*****!
Lovely clean family run guesthouse with large airy rooms and a pleasant patio. Restaurant serves burgers and salads; they were happy to knock me up something vegan upon my arrival. Very helpful staff, they even dropped me off at my next hotel. Would stay again
Unique experience: very quiet, calm atmosphere, beautiful beach, just a few people around. Tyler and Wii were very welcoming, helped with getting around. The bungalow is quite spacious, everything is clean. the nature is stunning, I even got to see monkeys
Lovely location, on the beach. However not a lot going on in Chaloklum.
A few seafood restaurants and a decent Italian down the road.
Malibu beach a short 5 mins walk and is lovely.
Organised scooter and laundry through them.
We had a great view on the pool and the sea. Also the pool area was very nice.
Smart TV. Big sized room. Little fitness room. Cozy couch. A beautiful beach reachable by feet in about 10 minutes. The manager was nice and friendly.
My local friends gave me a list of great hotels. The Red Pearl was on of them. I'm glad this was the one I decided on because the place is beautiful great pool wonderful rooms. super choice.
Choose an ocean view villa if you like it quiet, or family zone if you have kids. The staff was very kind and helpful, letting us change after one night in the family area to the beach side.
