We loved meeting several couples on the porch on a rainy night. In the rocking chairs meeting new friends for life. Ended up enjoying a day together with one of the couples at Mackinac Island. Then another day with another couple by driving to their home in Wisconsin fro their invitation. Friends now for life with two of the couples from a rainy night that kept many at the Stafford's Inn on the porch enjoying conversations from people from any different walks in life.

The breakfast was excellent. It had different items the customers would like to eat., It was very clean and all the staff were friendly and all the visitors that were at the hotel were very friendly and spoke to us. We will be back to stay.
This hotel is within a 5-minute drive of the Odawa Casino and offers spacious rooms with flat-screen TVs. The Petoskey Waterfront overlooking little Traverse Bay is 2 miles from the property.
Located off Highway 31, this Petoskey hotel overlooks the Grand Traverse Bay and features rooms with free WiFi and a cable TV. A free shuttle is offered to Odawa Casino, just 3.4 miles away.
For my own purposes the location was superb.
Only 4 miles away from Ski locations and 1-5 miles away from several upscale restaurants. Did not use the gym nor the swimming pool ( too tired ) The breakfast area is small barely adequate for the size of the hotel . Expect good and variety of items but not upscale breakfast .

The room was very clean.
The room was very clean. The bathroom area was huge with a jetted tub and lots of counter space with a long mirror. My room had a large closet and a couple of chests of drawers for your personal belongings. My room overlooked the pretty courtyard and pool. I didn’t use the real wood fireplace.
I wish it had lamps by the bed. The light switches were across the room from the bed. I left the tv on so I could turn off the lights. I was in room 14. The main doors were glass-paned French doors with sheers hanging on them. Room 14 needs more privacy with the French doors. I didn’t get to eat breakfast due to my schedule, but it was in the main building. It was a great stay other than the privacy issue. The other rooms I saw had solid doors for their main door.

Couldn’t stay in the room.
Couldn’t stay in the room. It smelled like urine very strong outside the door and had a similar scent inside, (and musty) like Lysol spray throughout. One of the comforters was very dirty. The lady at the front desk was nice. But if you are looking to save money, don’t. Pay a little extra and go somewhere else.

the old historic homes and buildings were great to walk around and see along with the small shops in the downtown area. take a drive through the scenic route "tunnel of trees" not a lot of activities for teenagers or small children
Beautiful location - peaceful setting, horses in pastures around us, scenic wooded and lake surroundings.
Lovely home - beautifully decorated with holiday lights, exceptionally decorated, comfortable beds and furnishings.
Welcoming and gracious hosts - helpful with even the little details; left thoughtful notes and easy to reach.
The room design was gorgeous. We loved the bed, bathroom, and small touches throughout the room that made it feel like a nice getaway and not just a hotel room. We also loved that the outdoor pool and hot tub were still open even though it was the off season. So nice to take a dip in a heated pool.
Everything about the Colonial Inn was a delight -- the charm, the location, the accommodations, the grounds, the "continental" breakfast, the staff -- truly, everything! We had a lovely stay and I was absolutely charmed. I will definitely be back!
This home was absolutely beautiful!! So close to Petoskey and all the beautiful sights. Quiet neighborhood and beautiful surroundings. the patio off the back of the house is quite relaxing! Definitely a 10/10
Beautiful location, quiet setting, clean and a short distance to harbor springs. The staff was very friendly and knew the area well. The rooms were nostalgic and brought me back in time, I loved it.
Location was perfect for our Fall weekend getaway. Easy access to bike trails, Tunnel of Trees and the shops and restaurants of Harbor Springs. We would gladly stay again.
Large size was perfect for our family. Beds were comfortable and all of us slept well at this quiet location near everything in Petoskey and Harbor Springs.
