Impressive property, great location, friendly staff, delicious breakfast with great variety of options, complimentary shuttle to and from downtown Funchal. We thoroughly enjoyed every part of our stay!

Renovated in 2018, the 4-star Hotel Alto Lido is located in Funchal’s prime area – Lido, 2.5 km from the city centre. We loved everything about the hotel. The staff went above and beyond for us we can't thank them enough. We had a massage at the spa which was definitely the best we've ever had. The room was fabulous and bed was super comfortable. Great breakfast plenty of choice. It was a nice distance from the main centre but and the shuttle bus was very handy. The live music I the lobby each evening was great. Although the construction site was on the same side as our room it did not effect us at all. We will definitely return.

As part of the Vila Porto Mare resort, this hotel offers 4 restaurants, 6 bars and 5 swimming pools. Porto Mare features an extensive tropical garden on the Atlantic oceanfront. The property is really big and has a lot of pools and amazing garden. Food was excellent. We got married in this hotel and it was perfect till the smallest details. Staff was very helpful and cordial. Our wedding and honey moon in this hotel was the best expierience for us. Huge thank you! We will be back for sure!

Set within a leafy garden, this hotel boasts an outdoor pool overlooking Funchal coastal cliffs. Pestana Vila Lido Madeira Ocean Hotel‘s studios are spacious and decorated with soft beige colours. The staff was really friendly, location is great, as hotel is right by the ocean. In the evening the sound od waves is the only thin one hears. Self service buffet breakfast was great, there is a lot of choises. When weather was good, you can eat on the terrace. And semi circular room gives beautiful views of the ocean and cliffs near Funchal. Would come again!

Located close to Funchal’s city centre, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Meliã Madeira Mare offers free WiFi, an indoor and outdoor pool and a spa. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Every late afternoon we received two pieces of chocolate. Location of the hotel is good. We parked in the garage of the hotel and it was free of charge. The gym is well equipped. Indoor pool is quite big.

The hotel is lovely, the room is very spacious, I could enjoy the ocean view from my window. Moreover the location is very good, close to all essential places. The staff is very helpful and friendly! There is everything what you need. Clean rooms and bathrooms, enough space and balconies for each room. Location is near the sea, there are plenty of stores and restaurants nearby. Personel is very friendly and professional. Breakfast was good, wise choice for one’s needs. There is also airport shuttle bus stop near the hotel, which is a great plus if you plan travelling with it.
