Casa Velha do Palheiro Relais & Chateaux is a 5-star manor house hotel situated in the old Palheiro Gardens in the foothills of Funchal. Words simply cannot convey how wonderful our experience was. The resort is stunning, the service is superior, the food is extraordinary, and there are so many thoughtful and meaningful touches that make this truly an experience instead of just a vacation. We received champagne, scrumptious desserts. The hotel staff quickly memorized our names and always greeted us warmly. Thanks to Luis(team), Sergio, Vanessa and Diana. The food is the absolute best we've ever eaten. We didn't want to leave and are already thinking about a return trip in the coming months!

Also the house was spacious and very well furnished. The beds were average. The kitchen itself had almost anything you'd want! I couldn't try the pool since it was too cold during my stay (January 2024), but it did look good. Loved my stay overall

Absolutely fantastic location, and you can see the ocean from your bed..... The property looks great, very clean, essentially brand new. The landlord very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!!!!!!!

We absolutely loved our stay here. The house and gardens are stunning, we particularly enjoyed spending time on the balcony and walking around the banana plantation. The bed was super comfy! We immediately fell in love with the view, it's breathtaking. The apartment is nice, spacious and the terrace offers lots of space to relax. Localization is perfect - close to the city center, but you can also easily reach the main road to other cities.

Extremely happy about the view, one of the best place to admire over Funchal and 🌊. I didn't meet the host, BUT they are extremely smart to follow and guide you through all the process with check in and out. Ps. Thanks for wine and chocolate!!!. The accommodation was fully equipped and very clean. We feel like we were home 😀😀😀
