Brilliant location just a street back from the main bars and restaurants, which you'll appreciate when you want to sleep and the bars don't close till 4am. Lovely sympathetic modern rebuild of the original property.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly attentive and made us feel welcome from the start. The decor was not only beautiful but told a fascinating story about the hotel’s history, which added so much character. The views from our room and the dining lounge were absolutely stunning.

Set in a preserved historic house, this accommodation is located in the old town and is a 13-minute walk of Hallgrímskirkja Church in Reykjavík.

Elsa went above and beyond, she left flowers and Easter eggs for us as it was Easter weekend, she let me amend my booking outside of the minimum nights, she was incredibly responsive and helpful. The extra bits and pieces in the bathroom and the kitchen were an added bonus! Such a beautiful stay.

Really nice stuff at the reception. We first got too small room, but it got sorted out quickly. The location could not be better, the breakfast was really good and everything was really organized. The room layout was practical for a family. Oh and Skyr here was really liked by kids. We would visit this hotel again.

There was plenty of room for our family (2 adults, a teenager and a child), it is a family home so it is fully equipped. The area is very quiet. My 6 yo enjoyed playing with the toys!

The property is ideal for a big family, we were staying with kids teenagers and everyone liked the place very much. The gym is really piece of art, the kitchen facilities are perfect, the view from a living room is great. The house is very warm despite the cold temperature outside. You have everything you need for Iceland short or even long trip.

The apartment was absolutely beautiful inside and so comfortable and cozy to stay for our family of 5. It’s perfect for families with adorable play areas set up for small children and very comfortable beds including bunk beds, a crib and a toddler bed. Also it is located right next door to a convenience store to buy food and snacks. It had everything we needed for our stay and was so lovely we almost didn’t want to leave.

I spent one night in Dalur Hostel and one night unplanned in Kex Hostel so I can compare: Dalur, unlike Kex, is quieter, more modern, more equipped, with better wifi, smarter. The equipment of the room was perfect, each bed with a lamp, a drawer and space for small things, a toilet in the room, from the window I saw a meadow for tents, I think Dalur is more suitable for families with children and single travelers, while Kex is more for young party/noisy people who want to cook together, drink alcohol and have fun
