Beautiful property, amazing lobby area and truly wonderful sociable staff. Also the animals were great to have around, especially little Meserito (I love cats). The location is great, not totally central, but in Bacalar basically everything is walking distance. Also appreciated it was quiet with not much outside noise. Nice little extras like the local sweets in the room, the map at the front desk to mark where you're coming from and the small surprise they give you at checkout.

I loved Bacalar and I loved this hotel! the rooms were big and bed was huuuge. Hotel is by the lake and the views are so beautiful! They offer kayaks and paddle boards too . In the evening you might see baths by the lake:)

We were staying in the lagoon view suit which had beautiful views and breakfast on the balcony each morning was lovely. The hotel is like a little oasis however there is building work / an abandoned building on one side and a strange holiday rental place the other which our room overlooked. For the price you pay and a 4 star hotel, I would have expected a mini fridge, you are provided with small bottles of water each day which isn’t enough, especially to say the hotel is a little out of town. You can’t walk into town, you have to take a taxi, they are pretty cheap but it does feel like you are a bit out of it. I appreciate that most the hotels with lagoon access were a little further out. Food at the hotel was nice, we had breakfast each morning and lunch one day by the pool. It would be nice for more veggies options to be on the menu. I found the breakfast menu and tour options confusing. We booked our lagoon boat tour through the hotel which we were advised we would be picked up from our dock. We then found out on the day that we in fact needed to get a taxi to where the boat departed. I wanted to go on the 3 hour tour but was told it was not available and we could only do the 5 hour tour. When we arrived it became apparent the shorter tour was in-fact available. We were also put on a boat without an English speaking guide which meant we had no idea what was being explained to us for the 5 hour duration. The staff at the hotel were aware our Spanish was very limited and would have known we would needed a bilingual guide. Service was often quite slow, there isn’t any sort of reception, all communication is done through WhatsApp. I like the modern idea but it took us over an hour to get drinks by the pool one day waiting for a response. Overall it is a nice option to stay in Bacalar, the hotel and views are lovely and the private dock is a bonus. However service levels could definitely be improved to align with the price and star rating.

The view from the rooms were amazing! I think every room has a view of the lagoon. Walking into the room after a long day and seeing the lagoon is a highlight. I am very thankful to the staff who were so attentive and welcoming, especially Jaer and Edgar! Jaer was amazing from the second I arrived. I also enjoyed the food, and the location was amazing.

The location of this place is unbeatable. I'm going to miss watching the sunrise from their lovely dock which has hammocks, seats and a roof. Gary at the reception was excellent, he really cares about his clients and the whole athmosphere of the place was lovely. The included breakfast is hands down the best I've had. It has a great selection of freshly cooked delicious options (chilaquiles, omelette, eggs, pancakes, etc) plus tropical fruits with granola and yogurt, and all the coffee you want.

Great staff, quick to respond and super helpful. Bungalow was great and is in a good location - to the lake and also to a good restaurant 50m from the house. We booked for a reduced price and would recommemd this place to everyone :)

    If you want nature, calmness and complete relaxation this is your place. It's not luxury, you don't have your own toilet or shower (it's shared and clean) but you have cute tent with bed and fan, free kayaks, beautiful calm set up and excellent food! Chef is Italian. Also very attentive and kind staff, muchas gracias Diego & Ben and doggies :) tip: book Front Lake tent.
