Apparently they were closing for a few months for renovations shortly after I stayed so maybe it will be upgraded but unfortunately that might also stop it being one of the few good bargains for hotels in New York. The Chinese lady who supervises the kitchen was able to buy baked beans in for us as they were not originally on the breakfast menu. Loved the walk in shower and the luxurious bathrobes, the King bed and couch in the room was such a luxury as well - the team also left a handwritten note and free drink tickets for us for our anniversary bc I had made a note in the booking that it was a staycation celebrating our 1 Year : ) such a nice surprise!
