Nice location. Excellent facilities. And friendly service
The Old Sweet Shop, a property with a garden, is situated in Winchester, 20 km from Southampton Cruise Terminal, 23 km from Ageas Bowl, as well as 28 km from Jane Austen's House Museum.
Period hotel beautifully modernised in charming location. The staff were so helpful and lovely without exception. We enjoyed drinks on the terrace, and a good quality 3-course dinner in the light and airy ‘new’ dining room. Comfortable room with very sweet attention to detail, lovely toiletries. Breakfast in the cosy ‘old’ dining room was exceptional. Hope to stay longer when we come again.
The location of the hotel is excellent for the purpose of getting to and from the city centre and there is plenty of car parking available. The room was clean and the shower very good and easy to use. The restaurant food was of very good quality and the restaurant staff were helpful and attentive.
Excellent location - nice walk by the river into town . A quirky theme but applied stylishly . Everything was immaculately clean -spotless white bed linen and towels . The breakfast was really good - quality products . A great place at a very reasonable price .
Very modern and peaceful hotel!
The use of the Spa was welcomed and relaxing. The room was comfortable and clean, compact but everything we needed!
Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially to our little dog that joined us, providing treats, bed and bowl for him!
The location was a short walk to the city centre with cafes and restaurants near by!
The food was delicious and a range of cocktails which went down a treat! Very relaxing weekend!
The service provided by the staff was excellent. The massage received at the spa was really good and, although I didn't use much of the spa facilities beyond that, they all looked pleasant with a nice looking indoor pool area.
The lobby, bar and restaurant area were also very presentable and the breakfast we had included each morning was varied and of a good quality.
The hotel is in a good location with regards to the city centre and there were no issues with noise.
The Fox seems to be newly renovated and it has been done to a very high standard, ncluding the well laid out car park area. The room we stayed in was very large and stylish, and also very clean and comfortable. The breakfast selection was exellent both in its range and quality. Overall an excellent place to stay
Clean, modern, bright, decent size room with good walk in shower. Nice bar area and good buffet breakfast, polite friendly staff. Great location 10 minutes walk into city centre.
Lovely rooms with updated bathrooms, large comfortable beds & pillows. The renovated Spa is very nice and an added bonus being able to use during your stay.Good buffet breakfast plenty of choice. Good location within easy walking distance to the city centre.
Perfect location for access to the city centre. Parking is very easy for a city centre hotel. Friendly and very helpful hotel staff. We had a Deluxe Double Room which was well equipped and everything worked as it should, the large bed was comfortable. Continental breakfast offerings were not a strength, but everything else was in good supply and the quality was high. The coffee was very good.
