The staff was super friendly and very accommodating, especially Roy. Roy was so nice he came on safari with us. He had a lot of knowledge about Yala and just Sri Lanka in general. He made the visit much more welcoming. Would love to stay here again!

First ask yourself what is the reason you want to be here - if you are here for the nature alone, Nilantha is the best person you can stay with and who you SHOULD take as a guide with you to the safari. He has a degree in biology , fluent English and knows so much about the local fauna and flora so a full day safari doesn’t get boring (which I can imagine can if you only take a driver with you). He is a true believer in ecotourism and is giving back to local communities. If you are here for a fancy dinner and facilities, go somewhere else. This is a simple stay in the jungle. And one more thing to add - your guide is not responsible for how many animals you’ll see BUT we were lucky and he for sure knows some spots where they MIGHT appear. And last but not least- Nilantha is a great and nice person we had a chance to meet :)

We also booked the Yala Safari with them and it was really nice, we saw lots of animals and the guide was really kind and friendly. Overall, it was a fab experience :)

14 km from Tissa Wewa, Wild Trails Yala by Suri is a recently renovated property situated in Yala and features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. This 5-star luxury tent offers a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage space. Rooms are equipped with a terrace with garden views. Amazing property, the Tent is a very cozy room and the staff was amazing. Uditha received super well and helped us with everything we needed. We stayed 3 nights and 2 days, and had a very early safari in both days. Uditha provided a breakfast for us to bring along and eat in our safari, and gave many tips about the region. We had pré-booked our safaris and lunch already, but if you need they can arrange for safaris and/or lunch as well. On the morning of our checkout we also did a nice bush walk around the property to say our goodbyes to Yala. The rooms have air conditioning, fan, hairdryer and good wifi. Definitely will recommend to friends that come to visit the Yala National Park!
