Sitting on the terrace eating breakfast was a highlight. Staff were most helpful.

Breakfast was cooked fresh for the four of us and it was excellent. It was delicious, and there was so much of it. We learned the story of perte de pain "Lost Bread" which we call French toast in the US. We had a champagne tasting the evening of our stay which was informative and delightful. Our hostess shared the story of their family champagnes which was such a treat.

The room was clean and comfortable. Located in Ay, it is a great base for discovering Champagne houses in the region. We were there off-season, so the town was pretty quiet. The breakfast was excellent, and the large communal table for all the guests enabled us to get to know the other Champagne enthusiast travelers who were also staying there. We stayed here for one night, but we wish we could have stayed longer. We also enjoyed the tasting of a selection of the Collery Champagnes in the next door tasting room, tempting us to buy a few bottles to take back. Highly recommended. We will certainly be back.

Patricia is a gracious and thoughtful host. The location is quiet and in a small town in a lovely part of France. The room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Details such as outlets next to the bed on both sides have been well thought out. Great advice about dinner and local attractions were complimented by a sumptuous breakfast. The creme-de-la-creme was that Patricia, a trained and excellent masseuse, had time for a massage as well.
