Super friendly and serviceminded host, employees and host family. Beautiful traditional guesthouse in a quiet street inside the walls of the old city. The breakfast was very nice, the backyard was very well decorated and calming. Our taxi driver from the train station called the guesthouse, so the owner came and picked up the luggage into the ancient city. Highly recommended . Thank you. They were delightful and keen to be helpful with lots of cups of tea, advice and assistance with purchasing tickets. It felt like I was staying with friends. Very little english, but fearless with using translation apps. Very thoughtful - gave me a bottle of water for the train home after dropping me at the station. The standout for this property was the staff. I wish them every success with their business.

Datong Yunzhong Traditional Courtyard is located in Datong Ancient Town, a 5-minute walk from Huayan temple and Nine Dragon Wall. It is a quadrangle courtyard Inn with traditional decoration. I fell in love with this hotel. It has a gentle, old-world charm that makes you feel like you're in a classic movie. The bedrooms are exquisitely furnished, the courtyards are beautiful and despite the attractions of Datong I spent hours just sitting in the courtyards enjoying the atmosphere. The location is perfectly central in this interesting city where there's much to see. The breakfast is without doubt the most eclectic I've ever been served, but there was much to enjoy. So many small welcoming touches. I was so sad to leave!

Excellent location (make sure to go through the South Gate on arrival since cars can't go inside the walls) and delicious food at their restaurant!!

Offering Chinese and Western food on site, Pingyao Harmony Hotel features well-decorated guestrooms and simple dormitory rooms for guests. Service was great. We were picked up at the parking lot with a shuttle bus. Dinner in the hotel was perfect and delicious. They even offered gluten free food! The owner family were very friendly and supported us in any situation. We strongly recommend this hotel as it is a pleasure to stay there. We surely will come back, when we are around this area again.

Beautiful accommodation at the centre of ancient city of Pingyao in the bustling South Street. The owner and staff are very friendly, warm and helpful. They picked us up from the station and brought us to Ancient City (cars are not allowed inside) and also brought us on the day of departure, both for very reasonable fees, because we were with 5, too many for a taxi. The hotel and rooms were in a traditional style, allowing for great pictures.The beds and cushions were very comfortable for us. The bathroom and toilet are combined in a small room, but it wasn't bothersome.The owner knows the nearby shops and good spots to go to, definitely ask for tips. We enjoyed our 2 nights and 3 days in Pingyao a lot, definitely recommended.
