The hotel staff was extremely kind and accommodating. The location was perfect—you feel like you're in the woods but are still super close to town. I will stay again next time I'm in town.

Property is massive and very close to a few hiking routes, but far from the city. Lots of other guests to talk to. Showers are good and clean. Every room has a sink.
Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
Relatively central location, and the hostel had a very friendly and open energy. Large room and large common spaces. The beds were mostly single beds (not bunk beds) and there were many lockers and outlets. Fairly clean, large, well-equipped kitchen. A good stay overall.
Cheap place to stay close to the old city, and very close to many hiking trails with great views of the city. Good kitchen and common area with couches, a hammock, and a piano. Staff seem to do well at making sure everyone is feeling safe and respected by other guests.
It’s an independent hostel and you can really feel it in the spirit of how it’s run. There’s a huge difference in my experience in staying here and in regular corporate hostels. Everyone was so nice and there was a real backpacker spirit all around. What was especially nice for me was to sleep in a real bed and not a bunk bed! Plus they make everyone a complimentary cup of strong coffee in the mornings. Thank you!!
For the general hostel experience I give 4 out of 10. It was ok, nothing more. Didn't feel safe, didn't feel too unsafe, wasn't very clean, wasn't too dirty. Some people are creepy, most are not. If you're low on budget and don't have much choice, it's an acceptable option. If you're not, just do yourself a favor and get a slightly more expensive Airbnb. Staying here might taint your Freiburg experience.
Cleanliness of the facilities, the huge common room, the peace in the dorm although there are 20 beds, very comfy. Very very cheap and i felt very safe there. Excellent location
