Where to start with this incredible place?? I arrived pretty anxious at the start of a big backpacking trip, and immediately felt so at home here. I ended up staying for 2.5 weeks and met incredible people from all corners of the world. Here are some of the reasons I liked it so much: - THE STAFF: The multilingual owner & volunteers are so friendly and helpful and are always up for a chat. - OUTDOOR SPACE. There is so much outdoor space. The breakfast area is huge and is great to work from while looking out onto an incredible view of the mountains. There's also a cute, smaller area with a hammock and a larger area downstairs. It's very easy to find a spot to chill, do some yoga or have some alone time. - BREAKFAST: Bread, plantain, exotic fruit, good tea selection, and they even make cous cous or tapioca on request and can cater to vegan diets. - EXCURSIONS: The hostel offers hikes and trips and organises everything for you. For multi-day camping trips, they even provide sleeping bags and tents. - WiFi: Pretty good WiFi. Not incredible, but I was able to do my work in the nice outdoor space. I only had one video call and it didn't work well outside, but was fine in my room. - THE ROOMS: Super cute rooms. Comfy bed and pillow, storage lockers, plug sockets by bed, fan, okay en-suite bathroom. Cleaned daily. - LOCATION: Just a five minute walk to get to the town centre. - KITCHEN: Well-equipped kitchen with gas hobs and an oven. - STORAGE: If you go on a multi-day trip, you can pack up your things and keep them in secure storage to avoid paying for nights you aren't there. In summary, STAY AT THIS HOSTEL. You won't regret it.

Casa das Irmãs - Women - Only er staðsett í Vale do Capao, 48 km frá Pai Inacio-fjallinu og býður upp á gistingu með garði, ókeypis einkabílastæði, setustofu og verönd. Clean, comfortable, and loved the shared spaces: kitchen, yoga room, couch area and sale/trade items to look around. Big board with events & resources. SO MANY HAMMOCKS! The vibes there overall was really nice and welcoming. I would have liked to stay longer.

Kombi Hostel Camping er staðsett í Vale do Capao, 47 km frá Pai Inacio-fjallinu, og státar af garði og útsýni yfir garðinn. I loved the cozy atmosphere at Kombi! Leandro is very welcoming, with the guests I cooked together and/ or shared meals, we went on hikes and for swims together. The hostel is very remote in beautiful nature, with an incredible view and nobody around. I slept in the Kombi (double bed, private room), a few meters away from the common area and also with a nice view and slept fantastically. The place was always kept very clean

Lilás Hospedagem e Terapias er staðsett í Vale do Capao og býður upp á ókeypis WiFi hvarvetna á gististaðnum. Gestir geta fengið sér drykk á snarlbarnum. Had a lovely stay at Lila’s Hospederia - bed and pillows super comfortable and the view divine. Guga was most responsive to all my needs. I will be back!

Pousada Caminhos da Chapada er staðsett í hjarta Chapada Diamantina, 300 metra frá Palmeiras-rútustöðinni. Boðið er upp á ókeypis WiFi, sjónvarpsherbergi og sameiginlegt eldhús. Excellent breakfast, clean rooms and bathrooms, and the staff was super friendly and went above and beyond for any requests! It was the perfect place to stay in Palmeiras before beginning the Vale do Pati. I would stay here again.

Good price with a free breakfast (fruits bread butter coffee) and Ale is always helpful and up for a little chat, the newest Fofoca and she can give a lot of tips what to do around Lençóis. Extra plus: The best pans I’ve seen so far in a hostel, not scratched at all <3
