The co-working, common space, dorm room and bathroom were all very elegantly decorated and sparkling clean. The nicest hostal I stayed at during my 3 weeks in Japan!

Professional staff. Chilled atmosphere in the shared room. They provided a useful map of the area so I knew where I could get dinner / nearby onsen / supermarkets / bank etc. one of many thoughtful touches.

The hosts were great and gave really good recommendations and the house also came with the free use of their private beach. We had the best stay!

A unique guesthouse with lots of personality and a friendly atmosphere. Amazing location, comfy and spacious beds, friendly staff, all facilities needed, perfectly clean everywhere and lots of chill out space. Highly recommend!!

First things first: this is a welcoming place. I enjoyed my short time at Kotohira a lot and a huge reason for that was the friendly and relaxed atmosphere at the guesthouse. The host (heart and soul of this traditional house in central location) is a bubbly and passionate traveller himself that has seen so many places in Japan and around the world. He is really interested in your own experiences while you travel in the region and he can give you a lot of recommendations. Even though this guest house is in the north of Shikoku, he provided me with travel and commuting advices for Hokkaido. And: I loved the traditional house in central but quiet location. My roomy female dormitory (for 2 people) was lovely decorated. It felt a bit like in a treasure museum. The bath facilities are modern and the kitchen is well equipped (free coffee). So, if you wanna stay in a friendly place where you can recharge travel energy and get freshly inspired, pick this guest house.

Sunny Day Hostel is set in Takamatsu, within 3.4 km of Asahi Green Park and 5.8 km of Cormorant Shrine. Gō was such an incredible host. The room was well designed and entirely clean. The location was very central. But truly it was a wonderful experience and I left feeling so happy because of Gō's hospitability.

The staff are really cool, and I enjoyed hanging out every night practicing my terrible Japanese. The big dorm is very spacious.
