This quaint little house is perfect for an author or artist who would like peace and quiet in a typical French village. The house has a large fenced garden located across the road about 20 meters away. The village of Saint Christophe-du-Luat is quiet and situated 6 km from Evron where there is a TGV station and all facilities including a number of grocery stores. The house is cosy and compact with a farmhouse atmosphere. Large new bed, comfortable rustic furnishings. We allow pets.
Our Mission Statement is simple – we want to provide guests with high-quality, functional, and comfortable vacation home rentals at an affordable price. Any excess returns we have from our rentals are turned-around and used to upgrade our properties to enhance our guests’ stay. We created ‘Salt House Properties’ as a means to provide ourselves with vacation rentals in places we like to visit. Our model is we would not stay in a hotel for any length of time unless it meets certain quality standards – high standards. We (Carol and Michael) are cousins and business partners who enjoy running our holiday rentals company (Salt House Properties) with vacation properties in northern France and Italy. Michael is Canadian, lives in the United States and travels frequently to Europe. Carol is British and currently lives in France.
As well as just a short walk from the cottage down to a pretty stream and picnic spot, there are numerous delightful villages and small towns nearby including: Saulges (magnificent ancient chapel; spectacular gorge with picnic area, river and walks) Jublains (interesting Roman town of great archaeological interest with splendid Roman fort, theatre and museum. Moulin de Thevalles is further afield at Chemere Le Roi but well worth making the trip - a grain mill belonging to a chateau in a beautiful lakeside setting. Guided tours available.
