Charming traditional crofting Cottage situated on the NC500, which overlooks Loch Drumbeg and the stunning mountains of Quinag, Canisp and Suilven. The Cottage is situated on a working Croft with sheep. You also may see deer and stags during your stay and hear the local Cuckoo depending on the time of year.
The Cottage comprises of a twin room downstairs with a king room and double room upstairs. The family bathroom can also be located on the first floor. There is a WC situated in the entrance porch to the Cottage. There is a cosy lounge area with an open fire where you can sit and relax listening to the crackling of the burning wood. The lounge leads into the kitchen with sliding door to separate the two rooms.
There is a large fully enclosed garden area to the front of the Cottage, ideal for kids playing, sitting and enjoying the weather, or just letting the dog/s run around.
Stunning beaches of Clashnessie, Clachtoll and Achmelvich are within a 20 minute drive. Clachtoll also has toilet facilities situated at the car park.
There are fabulous local eateries whether that be mobile catering or restaurants situated in nearby Lochinver. Booking is definitely recommended for all the restaurants. Pre-orders can be done for some of the mobile catering options.
Achloist has been in our family for over 100 years and holds a special place in our hearts. We hope you enjoy the stunning natural beauty which surrounds this area and enjoy our Cottage as much as we do when we visit.
There are various amazing restaurants to visit in nearby Lochinver, such as Peet's Restaurant, Delilah's and the famous Pie Shop called Lochinver Larder. There is also a fantastic mobile fish and chip converted horse box situated in Clachtoll called Catch Toll...pre-ordering is recommended. Local to Drumbeg itself on certain nights is a local pizza takeaway service. There is also a lovely cafe with shop and small deli. This is called The Jammery.
The lighthouse at Stoer also has a mobile coffee/tea and cakes van which has stunning views across the sea.
