The house also includes a generously-sized living room and separate dining room with a cosy wood burner, a newly appointed kitchen with a breakfast bar, a utility room, a convenient downstairs toilet, and the pièce de résistance—an indulgent hot tub for six nestled in the picturesque private garden.
Recently refurbished in 2023 with contemporary amenities, the house is meticulously maintained, reflecting our commitment to presenting a space of comfort and luxury for our guests.
Situated in the heart of Appleby, mere steps away from shops, bars, cafes, and restaurants, Little Apple Town House is a gateway to the enchanting Eden Valley. Explore the historic St Lawrence church adjacent to the house or take a leisurely stroll to the 12th-century castle. The town offers a range of recreational options, from a public swimming pool and play park to nearby cricket, football, and bowls facilities.
Beyond its physical beauty, the house holds a captivating history as the former Appleby Grammar School Boarding house, attended by none other than George Washington's father and brothers. This enchanting landscape comprises lush green countryside, traditional towns, and charming sandstone villages, some of which trace their roots back to Viking times.
Heading south, the tranquil Howgill Fells, beloved by the renowned walker A. Wainwright, offer a peaceful retreat for nature enthusiasts. The River Eden, originating in the Mallerstang Valley, ranks among the finest salmon and trout rivers in the North of England. Delight in scenic riverside walks and encounter the Eden Benchmarks—ten captivating sculptures strategically placed as welcoming seats in dramatic settings.
Entirely within Cumbria, the River Eden is unique as one of the few large rivers in England that flows northwards.
