Bundoran is well-established as a surfer’s paradise, boasting some of the best known surf schools and break points in the country, appealing to every level of surfer. What better way to emphasis this, than with National Geographic naming Bundoran one of the world’s best surf towns. Ireland “should be on the bucket list of every surfer,” National Geographic wrote. “And Bundoran should be the start of any surfing adventure on the Emerald Isle.” The beaches and reefs around Bundoran provide spots for a variety of suffers at different abilities. Kayaking and Stand Up Paddle Boarding has also become very popular, numerous trips are available on the sea around the nearby islands, paddlers will have the chance, depending on weather conditions to explore caves, venture around inlets and if you’re lucky you might even counter some dolphins along the way. Near the centre of town, you’ll find an 18 hole golf course, that sweeps along the rugged and picturesque Donegal Bay coastline. The properties is ideally situated close to the hills of the North West which is an excellent area for Hill Walking

Portbeg four bed houses, are within walking distance to the Atlantic Coast, restaurants, pubs and visitor attractions, offering extensive leisure facilities and activities. Each holiday home is furnished to the highest standard with an array of mod cons. Our homes are ideally suited to families, surfers or to people just wanting to ‘get away from it all’. The houses have an open plan garden surrounding them and during the summer months the resort is very busy with exchange students and holiday makers.

Neighbourhood information

Bundoran’s own “Wishing Chair” is located on one of the wonderful cliff walks, Rougey. It is said wishers should sit down slowly holding on to both “arms” of the chair and then pause for at least 15 seconds to take in the stunning scenery, that surrounds them before making their wish. This must be done in silence and kept private in order to increase the chances of it coming true. Finally it is believed that tapping the seat twice as you get up will give your final commitment that your wish is a genuine one. Sligo town is just 35km away from Bundoran. It is the area’s main shopping and commercial centre with numerous sites of historical interest and a scenic views on the shores of Lough Gill. Donegal Town is a historical town located just 28km from Bundoran. The town features a charming harbour and stone remains of centuries past such as a Castle and an Abbey from the 15th Century, there is also a variety of shops, where you can purchase local crafts.
