The bathroom had a BATH! Very important to me as I was out walking.
As I was joining a walking group, breakfast at 7.30 am was great. Also, as I have a digestive problem, they were willing to change some of the menu items for me. very good.

House is top heavy with stuff but the gardens are nice and even better the rolling acres around which are free to walk more or less and don't cost anything
Have just remembered the children's adventure playground which is really fabulous, worth the entry fee and very adventurous indeed so not for the faint hearted but for older children who want a challenge. Well done Chatsworth

DO NOT just turn up.
DO NOT just turn up. The car park is £7.50 and the attendants will NOT tell you that it is free if you pre book. They will simply take your money and only afterwards will you find out that it would have been free if you'd parked up before the gate and pre booked.

Staff were exceptional: especially Steve as well as Matthew Julia/Juliette, Bethany and Charlotte. Well informed, passionate and sharing.
I have never understood why the House, its collection and gardens are always rated as Britain's best. I have been often and too many others in the British Isles
But the Chatsworth staff: absolutely. Thank you all.

We absolutely loved staying here! The location was perfect, we were 10 minutes drive from Chatsworth House which was wonderful to visit on Easter Sunday. The barn is gorgeous, the layout suited us perfectly and everything was spotless including fresh bedding and towels. The kitchen is very well equipped and the small fenced garden would have been perfect to sit out in if the weather was better. Our little one also loved watching the surrounding wildlife in the garden - rabbits and pheasants all came to visit
Beautiful place and surroundings. Owners were fantastic!! We took our dog and had a dog friendly room, very spacious and clean, and even had a patio door out to a garden we could use. Facilities were great, everything you needed in the room, cordial and water on the landing outside the room was a lovely touch, even offered us cake on arrival!
Location itself is absolutely perfect, some beautiful walks on the door step, pub next door with great food, Chatsworth house and Baslow itself only a 5 minute drive. Highly recommend!
The apartment has designated parking right outside the door (ideal for children and luggage!) - it was very easy to check in. It is perfectly located for Chatsworth House (we drove as knew we would have a long day at the House and Gardens but believe the walk is doable). The pub opposite is excellent (recommend booking if a weekend) and there is an excellent Co-op a short walk from the property. Characterful, clean and comfortable. Perfect for our stay.
This hotel is fabulous. I stayed there so I could visit Chatsworth House and would definitely recommend it for anyone wanting to visit the area. The staff are friendly the rooms are charming and the restaurant excellent.
The location. Right at the gates to Chatsworth house. The hotel/pub was very nice. The room, ground floor was great but a little tired. Nothing a coat of paint wouldn't put right. The breakfast had a good choice, both hot and cold. Car park was very useful.
The location was excellent as we were attending the Chatsworth Country Fayre and within walking distance of Chatsworth House. We were in the downstairs front apartment which was really nice as it overlooked the front garden. The bed was very comfortable and plenty of storage space for clothes.
Very pleasant stay in this hotel, quiet location location a few miles away from Chatsworth house. Dinner and breakfast both excellent. Only the room was tiny for the price, but lovely and well equipped.
The hotel was lovely and clean and had very welcoming decor throughout.
The staff were lovely especially Emma who checked us in and even let us have a look at some other rooms for our future stay.
The hotel was easily accessible from Chatsworth House and the food was lovely.
