Beautiful premises with a lovely view onto Mourne Mountains. Had a lovely walk through garden to Shimna river, if you are able bodied as it was quite steep with some steps. Our room was lovely with great shower room and dressing room attached. The staff were friendly and professional. A very well run family business and very peaceful - a touch of old fashioned charm 😀

From the moment we walked into the hotel we were warmly greeted and really felt the staff appreciated our being there. Everyone was friendly. We ate 2 dinners and 2 lunches in the restaurant. The food was excellent. The room was very clean and suited our needs. We have been travelling in Ireland for two weeks and this stay was one of the hi-lights of our trip.

The property is in a wonderful location, close to Newcastle, Tollymore Forest Park, the Mourne Mountains, Murlough Bay and Castlewellan Country Park. My room was large and exceptionally comfortable. I loved the honesty bar in the lounge area and the self service continental breakfast was excellent. The owner was super helpful and made me feel very welcome.

I love staying at the Briers Country House! It is a lovely, peaceful property, the staff are friendly, the owner is gracious and welcoming and the rooms are just perfect. Comfortable clean beds, nice bathtubs and showers, and peace and quiet. A nice breakfast is provided until late in the morning. You can walk to town or to Tollymore Forest Park or just relax at the property. I will return to this property again and again and again.

Lovely cottage style house with good facilities. Enclosed back patio safe for my dog and then a communal grass and tree area for walking her. Also close to Tollymore Forest Park and the town and beach.

Our stay was great. The B&B is in a brilliant location - really close to Newcastle town and Tollymore forest park. The owners were also really friendly too.
