Visiting the Castle is good but not wheelchair accessible, its under renovation when we went. the locals are friendly and accomodating.Try the Viking tours at lough ree with vikingmike, very helpful and friendly plus free tea and coffee on board😀 plenty of places to eat but the Baileys bar and restaurant and The Left Bank bistro serves the best food serves lunch too.
