Go in the early morning before the place open at 10am. Be there around 9.30am less people around, a bit time for you to enjoy the surrounding and take nice photos without too many people in the background of the picture

Please note that if the waiting lines to go inside Belem Tower get to be too long, the ticket office will stop selling tickets, which they did at about 11:30 AM when we were there. The ticket office opens at 9 AM, and closes at 5 PM. The last admission into the tower is at 5:30 PM. If this attraction is important to you, try to get there before 9 AM, because there might be lines for even the ticket office at that time. We bought our tickets at 11 AM and the waiting line was estimated to be two hours from the signs that were posted. We weren’t able to wait that long, so our tickets went unused. Tickets are only valid for the day of purchase. Someone mentioned that if you found someone who wanted to buy it, you could sell your unused ticket if you weren’t able to wait for entry into the tower. We didn’t feel comfortable doing that, though. Tickets are about $18 USD. The area outside Belem Tower is gorgeous! I just wanted to post this extra information, because it would’ve been helpful for us to know beforehand.

This was an interesting historical monument, however, the line was very long. Even though the entrance is covered by the Lisboa Card, I did not want to spend hours waiting to see what might be inside plus you can get better views from the Age of Discovery monument.

Increditable structure and site.
Increditable structure and site. Closed to public and needs much more in terms of drawings, plans showing how site functioned a key element in river defenses of Lisbon since so much land reclamation has almost turned it into a landlocked site.

Long line to get into the tower.
Long line to get into the tower. Need to cross the park, overpass/underpass, and walk another 10 minutes to get there. So it takes at least 15-20 minutes to walk there from the bus stop. Views from the tower are not as spectacular as from Padrão dos Descobrimentos. They let 120 people in every half hour (60 with tickets and 60 without tickets). 6 Euros to go up to the towers. Highlight is the pasteis de nata. The best I've had. Cheapest (1.15 euro) and heavenly.

More or less a must, when in Lisbon.
More or less a must, when in Lisbon. It is fun with children, as you go up and down, and can play soldier or princess as you wish in the rooms and levels of the building. Prepare for lines, even if you are with Lisbon card, as there is a set number of people who can be in the tower at the same time, plust tourists can go in only at .00 and .30 of the hour. Children can collect shells on the riverside meanwhile.

The apartment is in a decent location. Very calm and pleasant neighborhood. Walking distance from Jeronimos Monastery and Belem Tower.
The apartment was decently clean and equipped with mostly everything we needed.
The host was extremely pleasant and responsive and allowed us to stay longer after checkout time due to out flight being late in the evening.
