Excellent value for money. Location superb for our needs. A place to rest close to the A1 with no noise. Breakfast was great with fresh fruit, fruit juice, plentiful coffee, tea and a cooked to order breakfast. No buffet breakfast here. Messaged ahead to advise the guest house of our late evening arrival time. Was messaged back straight away and they accommodated our request. The service is excellent and the lodge amazing. Far from a sterile, cloned room from a hotel chain.

Everything was very nice at the Newark Lodge. Breakfast was great each morning. The host and hostess helped us with identifying activities during our stay.

The apartment is spacious and clean, also a bit comfortable. However, this was the first apartment I would lodge in that didn't have cleaning supplies or a washing machine. Was I supposed to stay in an apartment for a week without having it cleaned by the apartment owners or by myself? I didn't understand that. I However reached out to the owner who later got me a brush and dustpan.

Newark Lodge Guest House was is an amazing place to stay. Not for those who enjoy crisp white lines, but for those who appreciate an eclectic home from home stay. Something new to discover around every corner. It was a shame we only had one night. Photos don't do it justice. Very clean, lovely comfortable bed, lots of bathing supplies, and a lovely breakfast, which was "just right". Lovely owners - very friendly and attentive without being overpowering.

It was a wonderful find providing a great way to break our journey to Northumberland. Mike was charming and so helpful. The breakfast was delicious and catered for my dietary requirements. I would definitely recommend Newark Lodge guest house.

We were greeted with a friendly welcome from Sheila and Mike, which made us immediately feel like at home. We chose the large Safari room, which was probably the biggest room we have stayed in. Incredible! The house is furnished with international decor of the highest quality. We enjoyed exploring the guest house and browsing the fascinating artifacts. To end our trip we enjoyed an amazing breakfast, which was made with the finest ingredients. The guest house itself is worth a visit to Newark.

Usually stay in hotel chains but tried this for a change. This lodge is stunning, quaint and unique, it feels remote yet very central to Balderton. The bed was comfortable, room very clean even down to remote controls being in plastic bags. Than the breakfast. Breakfast looked the part but the quality of the produce was obvious. The tea making fasciitis’ in the room was varied with good quality tea and large cups.

Nice big room, parking right outside the lodges, quiet considering its just off a very busy dual carriageway (A1). Room was a bit dated but for the price it served it's purpose. Would stay again when passing through
