Beautiful property that we've visited many times. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming.
Food is delicious for those eating meat but not much creativity for vegans (specifically the evening).
Breakfast though had plenty of options for all. The only minor thing was the dish served differed from the menu description.

Absolutely beautiful place. It's around a 10 minute walk into Norwich, so ideal location if you're OK with walking. Some quirky items in the house which we enjoyed noticing. Lovely comfy bed (upstairs - we didn't use the basement bedroom) and sofas. MASSIVE TV!

The staff were, really friendly, and helpful, which made you feel very welcome. We only had breakfast, but that was cooked to perfection, which we told your chef. Also the history, on the property was very interesting.
The shower pressure was amazing. Better than some of the 4/5 stars hotels.
It seemed to be a very busy local pub but I didn't hear any disturbances.
Breakfast was more than adequate.
The price was reasonable for a pub b&b.
Beautiful countryside setting. Lovely old style building. Lovely interior. Excellent staff. A chef with a Michelin star, from a previous restaurant and aiming for one at Caistor Hall too. Lovely breakfast area. Dog friendly. Stunning countryside walks around Caistor and Stoke Holy Cross. Old Roman ruin walks too, behind the church. Ten mins into Norwich City centre.
The breakfast was outstanding. Classical music in background, heavy white linen on tables, a lot of effort gone into presentation. Very polite and professional breakfast waiter. Beautiful, top quality produce cooked to perfection!
The Maids Head is a beautiful old building situated next to Norwich's superb cathedral. Lovely area to take a stroll. Smooth check-in with plenty of parking spaces and lovely receptionist. We thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday roast in the Winepress. Excellent meal and outstanding waiter.
The bar area is in a beautiful room.
Good air conditioning in the room. Good bathroom. Tea and coffee provided in a narrow upright cupboard with power.
i need two reviews first night standard room was tied and not clean a few dead flies in the room 2nd night we were moved to a suite which was 5 stars the hotel is very hot no radiators on in our room but still slept with a sheet in winter!
check in staff were excellent and so was the waitress who attended to me during supper. The evening Chef went out of his way to whip up a balsamic dressing when asked for it, and he customised the hollandaise sauce for me as requested. 5 stars to all the 3 staff who were there that evening - the check in staff, the waitress and the Chef.
A hidden gem, beautiful old world charm restored to create a lovely place for you to hide away for a night or two whilst exploring Norwich or to just get away… and then in the morning the most luxurious breakfast lovingly prepared by hand to order - no buffet here - just the best breakfast you’re likely to have outside of Michelin star chef’s wet dream…
