Ohakune Railway Station is 3 minutes' drive away. Spacious, modern well-appointed unit that provided comfy, warm accommodation on a cold winter's night high up in the mountains. After a good sleep, we were treated to bright sunshine, crisp air and splendid views as we wandered around the town.

Tongariro Springs Boutique Suites is located in Tongariro National Park. Guests at the property can enjoy views of the national park from the rooms and access to a Jacuzzi and a large hot pool, replenished with spring water. The room was very comfortable, but could have used a rug or mat at the inside of the doorway to help keep the muck from our shoes coming into the room (it was so rainy while we were there, we weren’t comfortable leaving them outside). Really appreciated the drying room. If we come back to the park, we would probably try to stay here again.

The Hobbit Motorlodge offers a hot tub and free unlimited WiFi. It is a 50-minute drive from the Tongariro Crossing, and the property can arrange for a drop-off service at a charge.

Free parking is provided. due to rain (traveling by motorcycle) and a failed attempt at the river canoe trip, I ended up staying at the Hobbit for way longer than anticipated, but my stay was fantastic and comfortable! Michelle who runs the lodge is a wonderful person and puts alot of effort in to keeping the lodge clean and comfy for guests! I would def recommend staying here if you are coming through Ohakune!

Ranging from a home sized Chalet (great for making special memories with family or a group of friends), 12 comfy self-contained Motel units, En-suited traditional lodge rooms, and a spacious 2-bedroom Apartment, we have options to suit all budgets. The motel/lodge is very well situated, directly on the road to Turoa, and close to nice bars and restaurants. We had a late check in (11:30pm), and the team was ver accomodating, leaving the room open with keys inside, and clear instructions to go to the room. We had a appartment with 2 rooms (6 beds in total). We were positively surprised by the quality of the place, with good beds (a bit too soft for one of them, but no complains for the others), and quite a lot of space. The kitchen was well equiped too. We only stayed 2 nights, but it would be a great place for a week.
