From US$100 per nightEverything was very nice: the Apartment is very located in Vic-sur-Aisne, a tiny nice place near Compiegne. Despite its size the village has a bakery, bars, a pharmacy, a very good restaurant and some more shops. Paris is not far, by car ca. one hour, whereby I recommedn to take the train from one of the many nearby train station. The apartment is well equipped, we did not miss anything. Parking at the street, for us it was not issue.

Dinner in front of the fire, in the castle environment, was unique and brilliant. Dog Spotty felt like the King of the Castle, with lots of smells from nature to experience. The chief-host is one of the sweetest persons we have ever met and knows everything about the area (being born there).

The location is beautiful right on a gorgeous lake absolutely full to the brim with wildlife such as swans, ducks, heron, beavers, and more. The water park is awesome with fun slides for different ages, wave machine, lazy river, rapid river, and a play area with slides and another for very little children. The kids loved it in there. They also loved the indoor golf, the Jeep safari and the Pony rides. There were a few outdoor play structures and the beach is also very nice. The food at the restaurants was good but we ate at the lodge more often for convenience and frankly greater choice from home cooking.

A great idea, a real escape from city busy life in the middle of nowhere, but with the castle ruins not far from the place (1.3 km). We liked the design of the house, it is quite original. The houses are in a spacious park, so you are very close to nature. The kitchen is well equipped. When you look at the house from outside, you will never guess how well it is designed inside. The lady at the reception is very friendly.

After a delayed ferry crossing it was the perfect overnight stay. Easy to find and our hosts even welcomed us when we arrived very late. A beautiful place, warm and comfortable and lots of history to the building. We will definitely be back for a little longer next time.
