Travelling with children can often be stressful but you made us all feel so welcome to your little spot of paradise. Super breakfast although we could easily have done our own with the small equipped kitchen in the Gîte, it had it all. One thing you must do is have supper one night!! Mic is France’s s answer to the hairy biker!!

Renovated 15th century seigneury that belonged to the philosopher René Descartes, Le Pigeonnier du Perron Hôtel offers 16 rooms, a restaurant, a vegetable garden and an outdoor heated swimming pool... A beautifully renovated collection of farm buildings just on the outskirts of Chatellerault. The staff spoke English and could not have been more helpful or charming. We had dinner there which was excellent, flavoursome, plentiful and great value for money. We were only passing through so didn’t have time to enjoy any facilities but I wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend it. A truly delightful stay.

The decorations are exquisite, everything kept to an excellent standard of good quality. It felt very spacious and luxurious. The hosts were very excellent, greeting us with cool drinks after our long drive, taking time to tell us about the history of the Villa and it really felt like they were sharing their home. We felt they really wanted us to enjoy the spaces, and we did! Especially the pool - a must!
