In the Peninsula area, it is hard to find a good place to eat, much less to find places open past 6pm, thankfully you got a really good restaurant (Sker Restaurant) only 10 minutes away from the hotel:) Let's talk about the most important meal of the day, BREAKFAST! 10/10. They had all what a breakfast for champions needs: Eggs, Sausage, different sorts of Icelandic yougurt(Skyr), Fruits, Juices, Coffee, and much more;) And you can easily watch the northern lights from the comfort of your room, but if you wanna get even a better view, you just need to drive a couple minutes out Hellissandur (away from the street lights). Flatey Island is one of those places you visit once in a lifetime, if you're lucky. We had the opportunity to visit and we're not dissappointed. The only hotel on the island has a beautiful old world charm to it and the decorating is fitting- as you feel somewhat you are back in time many decades. Upon arriving to the Island hotel staff will greet you to give you directions or even a ride to the hotel (it is about a 10-15 min walk from where the ferry docks). The hallways and rooms are nicely decorated and upkept. The staff called us earlier the same day before our arrival to confirm the number in our party and to be sure they could accommodate our needs. They were very friendly and welcoming upon our arrival. We enjoyed a nice dinner in the restaurant and the included breakfast the next morning exceeded our expectations.
