If you're visiting Okayama this establishment is centrally located and within walking distance of just about everywhere but without a doubt the greatest aspect is gracious host and his personable nature. The accommodations are modest, but clean and with more cooking features than a standard hotel. Large refrigerator and comfy beds, impeccable service and great conversation. If you're lucky, you might enjoy a game of friendly poker with the host and friends. Highly recommend and will definitely return!

This is a very recent addition, but the hotel does have wifi now. I stayed there passing through on two separate nights, on the first, there was none, but on the second they had just installed it. Okayama Annex Hotel is a place that while not amazing on its own, with what you get for how little you pay, it can't be beat. The rooms are small but have everything you need (though layout can differ) and are clean. The free meals are a welcome addition and the interactions I had with th staff were pleasant.

Central Hotel is located within easy walking distance of Okayama station, along the city's canal walk and opposite a pleasant park, overlooked by the majority of the rooms. The area is really pleasant and that carries forward to the staff (who were very professional and pleasant) and the hotel itself. The style is modern, the rooms clean and well furnished with a practical, relatively spacious layout. I didn't take advantage of the breakfast option, but everything I did experience was top notch!

Clean, Confortable, spacious enough for thw price. We had a Smart TV with the possibilities to use any common streaming service and youtube. WIFI worked great and the Laundromats had explanations in english too. Hotel was also only 5 mins away from Okayama Castle and 10 mins from Korakuen Garden. And in 10 Mins you could find great places to eat as well. The Electric Tram station going to and from the Main train station was right outside the door. Comfy all around.

We spent one night in the Japanese-style room. Just 10 minutes walk from Okayama train/bus station, we were immediately greeted with a warm smile by Takeshi. The room was very cute and cozy, warm and perfectly clean. The shared bathrooms and kitchen wete also clean and spacious. I think there were very few guests that night, but the place was very quiet, which I appreciate. You can use the washing machine between 16:00 and 20:00. I would definitely go back!

Hotel Abest Grande Okayama is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Okayama station. The staff members were friendly and accommodating, assisting me in storing my luggage before check-in time so that I could explore the tourist attractions in the Okayama area. The room, as well as the shared bathrooms and shower rooms, were clean and well-maintained, contributing to a pleasant stay. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Hotel Abest Grande Okayama.

This is my 3rd stay here and it’s wonderful every time. Yes, a futon is not always the most comfortable bedding and the pillows are interesting but the rooms are very spacious and beautiful in the traditional Japanese style, the setting is gorgeous, the staff are lovely and the bath is fabulous. Breakfast is a work of art. The cost is so reasonable compared to other traditional ryokan, it’s an excellent choice if you are visiting Okayama or Kurashiki.

Location - near to the Okayama train station and the main shopping area, including a massive Aeon Mall. Food and beverages - breakfast was a tasty spread of Japanese and Western food. There's also a self-service welcome drink bar, where you can mix your own cocktails. Facilities - the onsen was great, though a little small. The self-service amenities bar was well stocked and provided a lot of useful creams and lotions.

The breakfast was amazing and the spa area was also nice. The staff was exceptional. In all, I’m surprised this hotel is not 4 stars since I’ve been in way worse 4-star hotels in Europe and I would say this was still better than the 4-star hotels I got to know in Japan. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want to check the nearby Bikan district or even if you planned to go to Okayama city center.

Perhaps one of the more surreal places I've stayed at in Japan. It's a physical rehab facility for the elderly located opposite Kitanagase station, a stunningly bland district of Okayama. The rooms are exceptionally big for Japan, and are more like self-catering apartments (indeed, people live in smaller apartments in Japan). The reception staff were very pleasant. Great value for money.

Bed was clean with crisp white sheets and pillow case. It was very wide and the lower bunk bed had a high "ceiling" so it didn't feel cramped at all. Toilets and bathrooms were clean and convenient. Security lock on room door and main door made me feel very safe. The lounge was lively and has a cool vibe. Location was not far from Okayama Station. Overall, good value for money.

Good value, helpful staff and decent breakfast. Hotel is in a convenient location next to Okayama train station. Taxi to Okayama Castle and its gardens took us only about 20 min and $10. Hotel didn’t mind to keep our luggage after checkout for the whole day. We checked out early morning and came to collect our luggage at 8pm. We stayed only one night, but would happily come back.

Really cozy! Two floors of Japanese style apartment which is just 15 min walk away from Okayama station. Equipped with kitchen equipment and BBQ stuffs that we can cook and enjoy the meal. The check in time is set up at 18:00 but the host arranged to 15:30 since we’ve asked a head! Which is really helpful because my parents need to rest then. We have a good time during the stay.

The most beautiful, quiet Japanese house for first time travellers! Facilities were great and location was absolutely amazing. There are plenty of cafes and local stores (ceramic stores) surrounding hotel which was awesome for exploring. Although it is out of Okayama, staying in Kurashiki was much better to get away from busy crowds. Highly recommended, worth the money!!

Smile Hotel was a great place to stay in Okayama City. The hotel seemed like a relatively new build and all the facilities were really nice. The staff were all patient and polite. The room itself was relatively small but was perfect for a solo travel stay over. The hotel is located on a tram line and has multiple bus stops in front of the entrance.

Great location, very near Okayama station. You can reach the castle and garden by walking for about 15 min. They provide the usual amenities, coffee, tea. Even if the hotel was at the main street, it wasnt noisy at all. There were lots of konbinis, restos and fastfood around the area. I would stay here again if I come back to Okayama.

This was a gorgeous house to stay for a few nights. Very interesting artistic additions to an old Japanese house. Lots to look at inside! Hosts Brett, Sayako and Ren were so hospitable and welcoming. It was nice to relax in our own house and enjoy some space. Great access for day tripping to Okayama or the islands The beds were comfy

We enjoyed our stay, it's a cool old building. We felt it was overpriced for what you get compared to other places we stayed in our 4 week trip of Japan. No locks on rooms which we would've liked - but the hostel felt very safe. Dated kitchen facilities. Quite far out but easy to get the train into Okayama.

A number of staff spoke excellent English, the best we found on our three week trip. Next door to an excellent Japanese/French bakery which opened at 8am. On the Nishgawa canal which is beautifully decorated for Christmas. Walking distance from Koraku-en Garden and Okayama Castle, both worth visiting.

Rooms are modern and extremely comfortable, if small. The moderate twin was difficult to have 2 suitcases open at once. The hotel is in a great location for exploring Kurashiki old town and taking day trip to Okayama. Restaurant offers traditional Japanese cuisine which is very tasty.
